Hazbin Hotel Rambles #2: HH's Creation Story
I find Hazbin Hotel's take on the creation story interesting, and I wish they shared more about the details on how it compares and contrasts with the original, besides the whole thing of Lilith and Lucifer. I figured Adam would've been the window into that, but as we know, he was killed off in the first season. It's honestly a waste of character potential, and I wish they had given him a bit more depth than just being the misogynist, frat boy, asshole who's only real contribution we hear of is that he was the first man, and he boinked. And that's virtually it, leaving me confused about whether he was seriously just a stud, or whether it was Eve or his children who came after who were responsible for many of humanity's early achievements. However, one thing I did notice about Adam is a love for music. Adam sings and plays guitar, showing an affinity for rock music. Lilith also shows an affinity for music from what Charlie says, raising the residents of Hell up through song. We also see Abel having a love for music, like wanting his dad's old guitars, as well as Charlie and his own adoration for music. It seems a common trait among humanity, and those with human parantage, is to have an affinity for music.
However, I am more interested in how the creation story played out entirely. We know Lilith fled from Adam because he refused to see her as an equal and wanted all the control. She then met and fell in love with Lucifer, then later gave Eve the apple of knowledge. What I'm curious about is what happened after? I know Eve was most likely kicked out of the garden, but did Adam go too? And did he eat the apple as well? Because they seemed to focus on it solely being Eve that ate the apple, Adam was not present when they gave it to her. So if she was cast out, Adam must've gone with her if Abel and Cain are a thing, which is interesting because based on the characterization, you'd think he'd just have God make him a third wife instead of abandoning paradise in Eden. Unless he did truly love Eve, though, it's implied that Eve did eventually leave Adam and had an affair with Lucifer, which Lucifer hints at during their confrontation in the first season - doing a lewd hand gesture to imply that he and Eve were intimate at some point. Which makes me wonder if this was before or after Lilith's absence.
So makes me wonder, did Eve leave Adam during life or in Heaven? Or was she even allowed in Heaven due to her eating the apple? I suspect it's the latter since they make no reference of her being in Heaven, but they also don't make any reference to her being in Hell. So I'm curious about where exactly she is currently. Is she in the mortal world, having a similar curse to her son Cain of being doomed to live for all of eternity, roaming the Earth aimlessly? Or did she do something like Lilith did, and just set up her own little area somewhere in those realms?
I'm also curious if she did leave him during life, were their children already grown? Or was Adam left a single dad? What was her reasoning to leave, and how? Did Lucifer just show up, and she left with him, and that's when they had their little tryst? Or did she just wander off on her own and then eventually have that fling with Lucifer? And again, was Lilith present and aware of this/potentially a part of it?
Lastly, one thing I am curious about that doesn't really tie into their creation story is the Exorcists. I find it odd, Adam having an army of all women, brings to mind the furies and Valkeries of mythology. It's also odd that it seems they all were made specifically to be Exorcists in his army, all bearing a blackened version of Adam's halo, and the fact that Adam was the one to name them. Meaning, they were pure angels, not human born. That would explain why they're all so unhinged; they were influenced and partially modeled by him.
Also, one more thing to add - Why the hell does heaven seem so incompetent? Like, the only reason this stuff got so bad is that Sera was turning a blind eye to everything, like Adam's clearly worrisome behavior, to letting him have full, unbridled control over the exterminations. Like he had no supervision or anyone he had to answer to.
To add, why is it only Sera and Emily, mostly Sera, who seem to be doing anything and maintaining things? Where are the Arch-Angels, or any other angel who is of a higher rung than Sera? You'd figured that when Hell declared war, they'd start paying attention, but they make it seem like Sera is the only one with power there. Additionally, why is Lute not facing any consequences for her actions? Esspecially when she and Abel were sent to collect Emily, Lute put Emily's life in danger because she couldn't swallow her bloodlust. You'd think Sera would be pissed about that and take some sort of action, like benching her or worse.
But yeah, lots of unanswered things I am curious about. I'd also love to hear other people's theories and personal headcanons on the matter
Vivziepop confirmed Adam ate the Fruit of Forbidden Knowledge too, so imo this is what followed:
Eve met Lucifer and Lilith who convince her to eat the fruit and this culminates in a threesome under the Tree of Knowledge. If Cain is a product of a short lived affair or not, it must be seen.
The whole act, created a way to evil infect the world forming hell and it's first demons, which includes the Sins aside of Lucifer who still needed to fall.
Whateve passed through Eve's mind or if Lucifer and Lilith told ger to give the Apple to Adam too I don't know, but she resolved to share the Fruit of Knowledge to him like it was shared to her. And he accepted, Vivziepop confirmed he also did ate the Apple.
It was that moment that the angels arrived and demanded answers, putting the fear of God into Adam and Eve who started to shift the blame, with Adam blamming Eve and Eve blamming Lucifer and Lilith. After finding the source of their problems, the Elders brought the two before them. In the middle of the verbal fight it was revealed, probably by an angry Lucifer or Lilith, that Eve cheated on Adam as a response for her trying to put all the blame on them. Adam was furious and started to fight with Eve, needing to be held back to not do something in the heat of moment that at this point of his life he would regret.
The angels decided to damn Adam and Eve to hard life together on Earth meanwhile Lucifer and Lilith were chained and put before the angelic council, where their full sentence would be cast before they were casted into the newly formed hell.
Their fall formed the crater in Pentagram City, with Lucifer taking most of the damage to protect Lilith but she still died and became a Sinner. The destruction attracted the Deadly Sins to their location.
On Earth Adam and Eve stayed together, but it was mostly because they needed each other, so there on the first day of the Fall was stabilish a co-dependent toxic relationship that was basically "Teeth-Clenched Teamwork" of biblical proportions with their excuse of marriage finding it's breaking point after Abel was murdered by Cain.
Still, they atayed together until death did them apart, having Seth and other children.
When Adam ascended into Heaven he didn't even look back for Eve, essentially abandoning his ex to rot on hell with her lovers. If she got back together with them or whateve he didn't know and even wanted an answer for, trying to forget about her with hedonistic fun on Heaven.
Forget about this. What Vivziepop told in the inteview just caused some people to interpret as Adam having eaten the Apple too, but in the end nothing was really confirmed about this. Shame on me, my mistake.
