Two of the first five mountain bongos are released into the recently completed Mawingu Bongo Sanctuary during its official opening within the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy at the foothills of Mount Kenya in Nanyuki, Kenya. The first-ever mountain bongo sanctuary in the world marks an historic milestone in the fight for the survival of the critically endangered subspecies, with less than 100 bongos left in the wild. The conservancy is home to 63 mountain bongos. The animal is one of the largest forest antelopes and endemic to the equatorial forests of Kenya.

The Lewis Glacier, Mt Kenya, 2004 by Simon Norfolk
Mount Kenya.
A photo taken last month by Nairobi resident Osman Siddiqi shows One Africa Place, a bullet-shaped glass high-rise in Nairobi, framed by the jagged, snowcapped peaks of Mount Kenya, which many residents said they have never seen from the capital city.
The picture is stunning. It shows One Africa Place, a bullet-shaped glass high-rise in Nairobi, framed by the jagged, snowcapped peaks of Mount Kenya.
All of the COVID-19 social distancing measures have reduced pollution so much that suddenly, the second-highest mountain in Africa, with an altitude of 17,057 feet, is visible from Kenya's capital city, about 85 miles away.
Beautiful exploration of the landscape of Kenya. Original caption:
