De Afghaanse seizoenen in een video van Simon Norfolk. Maar de oorlog die blijft er.

Een reeks beelden uit de provincie Bamyan in de Centrale Hooglanden van Afghanistan, in overgang van het ene seizoen naar het andere. Twee verlaten Sovjettanks gefotografeerd in een veld. Wandelen door de velden en straten hier kan zijn alsof je door een museum van de archeologie van de oorlog loopt - verschillende momenten van vernietiging die als sedimenten op elkaar rusten.

Mapping with a Pyrograph, the melting of the Lewis Glacier on Mt Kenya

These fire lines I have drawn represent where the front of the Lewis Glacier was at various times in the recent past; the years are given in the captions. In the distance, a harvest moon lights the poor, doomed glacier remnant; the gap between the fire and the ice 'snout' represents the relentless melting.
