CRUCIFIXION OF COLEMAN 12"

We played Long Island on our first disaster of a tour (‘94) and Chris Jensen (Mountain Recs), who set up the show for us, could not let us stay at his place, our next show was in Boston, so he called his friend up and his friend (and room mates) were nice enough to open their apartment for us to show up ass crack early in the morning after driving all night through a blizzard. That friend was Jackie from Coleman. We all hit it off with her and this started our love affair with all things Coleman. I am not sure how many shows we played with them, but even after all this time, they are one of the most intense and terrifying bands I have ever seen perform. I even had to walk out, mid-set, a couple times. They are all wonderful individuals and here is the piece of paper and plastic to memorialize that point in time in all our lives.
The Coleman side is captured perfection by the great Bill T. Miller, while our side is pretty fucked up sounding. Not really in the best way, but it is what it is. We recorded it in 1995 in the Ohio University T-Com studio with Jeff Lewis on ADAT (!), which is basically VHS tapes. Jeff did a good job considering that he was just learning how to record bands. It was recorded for free as a project for one of his classes, and I can’t remember why, but we had to sneak in at midnight a few times to finish it up. Maybe we only had an allotted amount of time? There's a really great demo session of some of these songs that Jamie Stillman recorded on his 8 track cassette recorder, I would like to know if anyone has a copy of it. I remember Good Neighbor sounded really heavy.
Our side of the cover was designed by Matt, the mass of bicycle parts is from a photo of the Heidelberg Project in Detroit and the photo of the trash can with the chain came from….the trash. I think Alex found that in an OSU dumpster. I assume a photography student’s discarded homework assignment.
Three Studies is mostly known for this record and the Harriet The Spy split 7" and unfortunately our 12" was not completed because I believe that would have represented us best, it was recorded in the same session as our songs for the Melt Banana split 8".

Second press - 200 on orange marble vinyl with blank labels
