Mount Mercer, Chilliwack, BC
What a crazy slog up an unmarked snowy hill! We couldn’t find the supposed snowshoe trail that the internet told us about so we used our GPS with the hopes that the dense forest would lead us someplace nice. And it did! We reached the ridge and the weather was perfect to see the beautiful view. Though we were disappointed at first with the hike, it ended up being well worth it in the end. However, it took us 5 hours to get to where we stopped so we decided not to go any further. The round trip took us a full 9 hours since we ended up on the wrong path at the very end but we were so happy with everything, we didn’t even care. Not to mention that we were very isolated up there; I think we practiced social distancing quite well that day.
