Holiday photos part 16 of 16
Time to head home - We left Rotorua on the first non-sunny day we'd had while on holiday. However, the Desert Road was now open and we could experience another view of the volcanoes.North end, the weather was crap and the volcanoes hid. But as we headed south, Mount Ruapehu appeared for us.South of Taihape, we saw some nice rock faces exposed. Nothing volcano down this way - all sedimentary. The rock faces in phots 6 and 7 are beside the Rangitikei River.Going through Bulls, we got stuck in traffic and I had a chance to grab a pic of one of the bull statues scattered around the town. Not far from home, we hit low cloud and terrible weather not far from home on the Wanui Saddle. But as we descended down, we got out of the cloud and managed to grab a snap of the rainbow bridge in Pāuatahanui.
