It felt like life had been one constant crisis after another, ever since Pyrrha…., but he couldn't think about her now. None of them had had time to mourn her, and it didn't like that was going to change any time soon.
For a while, the team's priority had just been to get the Relic to Atlas. They'd run into plenty of obstacles, but that had been the focus, the thing that kept them going, even when they ran into bumps on the way.
Now that they'd gotten to Atlas, they had even more to figure out. But with construction under way on converting Amity Colosseum into a way to communicate with all of Remnant, they finally had a chance to breathe.
Ruby and Jaune had both stepped out of the training room at the same time, to take a moment to rest before they met back up with everyone. He let out his breath, running a hand through his newly-short hair, something he was still getting used to.
"I never thought I'd end up anywhere near here," Jaune admitted with a little laugh, glancing over to Ruby. "Where did you figure you'd end up, when you first started at Beacon?" Ruby was one of the first friends he'd made all the way back in Vale, but it felt like they hadn't really had time to talk in a while. Maybe it was time for that to change.
