The lore used is my own interpretation and expansion of some canon elements, particularly from Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy.

ACCURACY: FIVE OUT OF FIVE. Jessie's voice for Rider is youthful to suit an older teenager or young woman, but still noticeably deep. Rider herself is a steeled soldier who is stubborn, determined, and yet incredibly loyal and devoted to those closest to her, which fits Mari's own personality to a tee! It's coupled with an absolutely beautiful singing voice that Mari herself possesses. I could not be more satisfied with this choice!

ACCURACY: THREE OUT OF FIVE. Ellanora is one of my oldest OCs that still lingers around in my head. I developed her when I was eleven years old, and since then her voice has kinda been all over the place. As of right now, Kate McKinnon suits her dry enthusiasm. She's capable of being both somewhat cool as well as warm. However, other potential influences for Ellanora's voice include Sigourney Weaver, and Janeane Garorfalo who voiced Stith in Titan A.E.

ACCURACY: FOUR OUT OF FIVE. Though it's not completely accurate to how he speaks, I think that Liam Neeson's voice for Aslan is the perfect tone for Vidar. He carries a voice that is warm, gentle, and sometimes even exhausted, yet can be capable of carrying weight and wisdom to his words. Other influences for Vidar include Sir Patrick Stewart, who voiced The Great Prince in Bambi II, and Derek Jacobi, who voiced Nicodemus in The Secret of NIMH.

He rests his head on the grass where he's loafing, eyes pointed up to Vidar, his dark brows rising so he can better see.

"If you feel you're out of touch with yourself, go hunting."

THE OTHER'S SIMPLISTIC YET EFFECTIVE RESPONSE yields a soft chuckle and a smile which spreads across the edges of his snout. "To be someone yet feel so much like something else." He ponders wisely. "And yet, it is that I am a dragon, as to why I am Seer. No man nor Azran could live as long as my kind, lest the role be passed to human flesh."

"I cannot say I am out of touch, or perhaps, more like, I simply am content that I am more man than dragon in nature," He reasons. "Of course, being a member of my kind is not something to be ashamed of. I have always been told that we are very regal creatures."

But that was it, wasn't it? He was always told, never shown. Never graced with the fortune of meeting his own kin. Perhaps it was for the best he didn't; he knew not a wyvern's customs or language. Would he be an outcast to them, if he found himself among them?

"Mm. To each their own. I hunt only to satisfy my appetite. I feel more at home with the wind beneath my wings."

"AH, BUT DO NOT BE AFRAID. BE AT REST, AND REST IT BE. I am just an old tale teller," His tired, icy hues brighten with the rest of his features as he bows his head with respect. "Word spreads with the land as it grows, and these ears hear many of them. If I am not mistaken, I am in the presence of his majesty." A pause. "May this newborn peace usher forth in your care."

HIS ARCHING NECK FILLS THE FRAME OF THE CAVERN, neatly splayed out in the shelter he has found. There is plenty of space for another, however, and he will not deny wildlife their shelter when it rains. Tiredly, but placidly, the Seer does shift, tucking one wing closer to his hide so that a snow white wolf would be able to nestle beside him.

"PERHAPS THE NATURE OF MY UPBRINGING HAS DULLED the instincts deeply-seated in my bloodline," Says he, with a breathy exhale through his nostrils. Vidar's head sweeps towards them, a defeated exhaustion befalling his gaze though the rest of his features remained alert, "Am I more a man in a dragon's body, than a dragon itself?"

AS THE SUN RISES, SO DOES HE. The early-morning fog parts for his figure as he emerges from his dwelling, cool steam bursting from his snout where it churns and blends in with the humid air. There's a slow shake of his head and neck, cresting nape following the liquid flow of it as he stirs from drowsy slumber. The sun has just begun to peak over the snow-capped tops and light the soft corners of edelweiss.

— It is a new day.

VIDAR'S TRIGUN VERSE: A BRANCH OFF OF VERSE 001. Rather than existing on earth, the ancient Azran civilization once belonged to Gunsmoke, a formerly lush world full of life. Unfortunately, its slow descent into a desert world was quickened by the Azran War. Vidar enters stasis at the end of the war and wakes up as its final survivor thousands of years later, right around the time of the Great Fall.

Puzzled by this new race, Vidar spends the next 150+ years wandering the land, seeking to aid humanity in any way he can. Ultimately he guards the last remaining secrets of the Azran, which, he fears may someday be unraveled at humanity's expense.

AH, BUT IF ONLY HE COULD. He fancies the chance to do so, but VIDAR knows that would be impossible. He thinks for a moment on her words, and sighs through his nose, craning his head to one side. He would never burden a child with that sad answer. He'd rather deflect the conversation.

" . . . IT IS DANGEROUS to go alone, young one. Go if you must but not by yourself. Where is it you are headed? " Alas. He would not be able to rest easy tonight with the weight of letting her go on her lonesome resting on his conscience.

" AT EASE. AT EASE, CHILD—HUSH. I will not harm you. I promise. Now, hold still. " The poor girl. To be caught in a hunter's trap is a horrible thing, even for the prey it was meant for. Most awaited a slow and horrible death and if not, finally put out of their misery by the master that would eventually find them. That in itself fills him with dread; he would not wish a slow death on his worst enemy—but to see a child in such turmoil is far worse.

" You are right to be wary of most beasts. I'm sure my frame isn't of any use in reassuring you. But you must lie still. I'll work quickly. " Milky gaze studies the trap carefully, seeking to find the weakspot that held the thing together. He had no dexterous hands to work with, but his fangs and talons would have to do. VIDAR makes himself appear as small as possible ( which he did quite often, ) to appear less threatening. Then his head cranes low and his nose horn snags the rope.

Once he can wiggle his snout in there, his teeth catch the twine and they snap open the trap in a fell swoop. He stands back quickly, observing his work. | @vendettamuses - mebh

" I SEE. THE GARB AND THE STAFF—you are a soldier, are you not? " Arms are raised but that hardly fazes he, the old SEER. After all, Vidar knows his own intentions and his intentions are pure. He would only feel threatened if there was something or someone to hide.

But Vidar is always keen in his observations, and very insightful. A wise beast such as he could easily detect the youth of the other's voice. " You needn't raise your weapon at me, young one. " He is less concerned about himself and more about this fellow, who seemed awfully young to bear such attire. | @mournedstories - hunter
