      a  scoff  breaks  out  of  ruby  lips,  arms  wrapping  across  her  chest.  she  knows  she  looks  like  a  child,  pettiness  and  stubbornness  burning  bright  in  mocha  hues.  but  she  cannot  help  it,  she  always  gets  defensive  when  it  comes  to  him.  especially  if  it’s  eden  saying  something,  seeing  as  she  is  her  best  friend  and  the  smartest  person  sarah  knows.  a  sigh  fills  the  space  between  them  as  sarah  turns  around  to  look  at  the  other  girl.  ❝  probably  not.  but...  isn’t  it  a  good  thing  i’m  at  least  trying?  ❞
