@jhsgf82 and anyone wanting to relive fairytale anon (definitely not @mocalmangeal)’s forest mouse Katniss story, they can be found under #the ballad of mice and other animals (I will tag below) … if you’re just here for mouse!everlark, I’ll tag that too … it’s cute and pretty silly and kind of an homage to Brian Jacques or Kate DiCamilo or Beatrix Potter’s animal stories 🐁

I legit took minutes to realize the asks of writing I saw of mouse!Everlark and cried at how adorbs it was ;;

Then it legit took some hour or so to notice this and had lost it and had to sketch something out-

I realized that drawing mice in small scale is actually easier to draw then big, so I struggled but I agree wholeheartedly

Mouse!Everlark for all that fairytale goodness 🐭

mouse!katniss gathers sunflower seeds, mouse!peeta bakes a tiny blueberry tart, they sit under a leaf and drink raindrops out of acorn tops

I’m very emotional today and this is just . . . too much 😭😭😭

mouse!katniss is on an adventure to rescue her husband who was taken prisoner by the snakes

*gasps with utter delight* 

an industrious little field mouse 

meets a brave forest mouse 

and they have a tiny mouse wedding

and build a home the trunk of a tree

it’s very snug and cozy and all their trinkets and important items (the pearl, the locket) are oversized but very precious to them

and of course mouse!katniss will cross the whole wide wood to save her husband who was taken by the snakes

perhaps she will meet otter!finnick along the way

or snarky woodpecker!johanna 

and it will be a grand adventure

which culminates in a nest of dandelions 

and me crying over how completely pure and very Tale of Despereaux meets Redwall meets Wind in the Willows this is

peeta, the tiny golden mouse, with ears too big for his body, and katniss, the impossibly smaller deep brown mouse, with a tail that could wrap around herself twice

*words cannot describe the giddy, childish delight I am experiencing* 

this is e n c h a n t i n g and I want a novel’s worth more of these precious, charming details!

It was a treacherous journey for the little brown mouse, huddled in a hidden cove for protection from the torrential rain. it was there that she met her first friend, a lovely sea otter, floating on his back. "are you lost, little mouse? im finnick." the otter passed her a bite of his dinner. "thank you, finnick. my name is katniss and i fear that my husband has been taken by the mighty beast that prowls." she sighed sadly. "oh, dear," finnick gasped.

otter!Finnick YES! oh I love him! and the image of tiny Katniss huddled in a cove?  *melts* this is the most invested I’ve been in a story in forever I need at least a full animated season of this
