Roddy's hand comes into his eyeline, reaching over his tray. The smell of orange fills the small room and Kyle watches Roddy peel it for him and he allows himself to smile, to soak in the sea of nostalgia before sometimes goes wrong again. Something goes wrong. Always. "Thank you." Kyle mouths, sticking the barely full fork into his mouth, the plastic hurts his teeth and his nose wrinkles.
Roddy splits the orange in half, picks the rind off Kyle's side and leaves it in a neat pile on the side of his own empty place. "Eat. Your sugars need it."
"My sugars are fine." Kyle tells him and he hopes that the lughtness comes through his voice.

"She peels an orange, separates it in perfect halves, and gives one of them to me. If I could wear it like a friendship bracelet, I would." Ass section
