very rough wip of the worst leader in paradox space
wah, i’m exhausted
we spent all afternoon to evening yesterday sorting through the stuff we have in our basement compartment (which is big so uhh there has been some stuff collecting there over the past.. 8 years?) and today we threw out about 20 huge sacks of clothing, a shit ton of paper and boxes and other cardboard stuff, and a bunch of old electric stuff, we had to drive to the recycling center twice to get rid of all the junk and to the clothing collection bins once, oof. very satisfying though, just throwing stuff away and freeing up so much space
we went to a vodafone (one of our internet providers) store yesterday to see if they can make us an offer that is better than the ones online, but it turns out our new address is a bit problematic cause it’s two numbers, as in 1 to 3 (written 1-3 or 1/3) even though it is only one house and you get different results on which bandwidth and stuff is possible for the location for any combination of possible numbers, though there is no house 1, 2 or 3, only 1-3, my favorite is some of the providers added even more options like 1a and 1b too 🙈
we had already asked our real estate agent if she knew which connection was available, she told us it was cable internet. the dude in the shop said that was impossible, there was no way there was cable at the house.. alrighty then
we went home to contact our landlords (they are a huge firm not a singular person) to get confirmation on what connection was installed in the house and they told us it’s cable, not just dsl (from telekom, a different internet provider, though, but it’s possible that vodafone can just co-opt the cable they installed)
so we went back there this morning, to ask if they could use the cable installed by the other provider. he was still sure there was no cable at the address, that it was impossible, that his best friend ran a telekom store, so he’d know, that there was no telekom cable internet in the first place, that he could offer us dsl, but it might only be 16 mbits, depending on which number was correct
when i suggested that, uh, of course there is telekom cable internet??? it’s not like i didn’t check our options before that??? he got real offended and said i should just do that then if i believed it existed. alrighty then, we’re gonna do that now i guess 🙄 but first we still have to use our old internet contract cause it runs till april but now we have the problem that.. we have to somehow sort it out with them which connection is available at the address lol and we have to decide when to switch from our current to the new place, since we have both apartments for at least a month
More books have been dusted, wrapped, and boxed, with the shelves nearest my chair about halfway done. Using up old wrapping paper to wrap books, either singly or in same-sized packages, to keep pages from getting bent, and to prevent any further damage to soft-cover books during the move. Also it will, one hopes, keep out any bugs that might seek refuge in the garage or storage unit during the high heat, because the banker boxes aren’t bug-proof, but dammit I’ve removed enough mothy bits from books to last me a lifetime.
Plus, like, the literal-antique books in the house are just getting some extra care taken with them, but I’m obsessive-compulsive and I have a particular horror of moths, and they just... ugh, they infest everything, these tiny ones that are an invasive species.
There’s only a million more books to go... but at this point, most of them aren’t mine. Tomorrow I get all the recycling bagged up.
Making some definite progress on the move. Today I did some laundry, some of my own packing-up, and accompanied my mom for a round of errands, one of which was more my errand.
Went to the pet supply place and picked up new collars and tags for the boys just in case (I definitely don’t expect timid Momo to get loose and run off, he doesn’t like being out of the house, and will likely settle right into the new one and not want to go outside there, as he did when we brought him home from the rescue farm as a baby... but Lego is one for sneaking outside. We’ll still have a high fence around the yard and he does have a leash and harness, so supervised outside time is still doable for him, but I feel better knowing if he does do any escaping, he’ll be easily identifiable and returnable, old man that he is.
As in an example tutorial for the code of an animation of a sidebar image, if that makes sense, like when you hover over the sidebar and it moves.
aaaaaaah that´s what you mean :D
ok sure :)
I am taking my theme number 28 - the doctor as an example.
To make something animated, you need to have the picture code first of course. I guess you already have one.
Then you need to have a hover code for it. Hover = going with the mouse over stuff in the theme.
so, for example you have a sidebar image called
#sidebarimage1 img
then you need another code box, just for the hover. It looks like this:
#sidebar:hover #sidebarimage1 img { }
or with a description:
#description
make a new box with
#sidebar:hover #description { }
Between the brackets you put stuff you want the image to do in the sidebar, for example:
Spinning:transform:rotate(360deg);-ms-transform:rotate(360deg);-webkit-transform:rotate(360deg);
360deg = 360 degree, you can use any degree number you want
Opacity:
opacity:1 (fully opaque)
opacity:0 (not visible)
opacity: 0.8 (visible but more transparent)
To make every motion smoother, put this in:
-webkit-transition-duration:1s; -moz-transition-duration:1s; -o-transition-duration:1s;
1s = it takes one second for everything to move, you can change this number as well.
That should be all, tell me if anything wasn´t clear for you :)

I was procrastinating cleaning, so I finally watched Ten Inch Hero. I was bracing myself to be annoyed by it and just enjoy looking at Jensen act in something non-SPN, but was shocked to find myself genuinely enjoying it. It reminded me a lot of late nineties episodic comedies (to the point that I was shocked it came out it 2007) down to the color palette. It was sweetly told, compassionate with its characters and had a few good laughs.
I could also make a list of some of the things about it that annoyed me too, but I'll refrain.
And of course, Jensen was great. I wish we'd gotten more background on his character since everyone else was allowed a backstory, but his scenes were fun and I loved seeing him all pierced up.
