The ongoing financial colonial violence in Congo has claimed more lives in the last three decades than any conflict since WWII. The device you’re using right now contains minerals that likely came from Congo, at a horrible human cost.

If you’ve not heard about this issue, if you don’t know the word “coltan,” if you’ve not heard about the forced labor of children, if you’ve not heard about the sexual violence, if you’ve not heard about how the UK’s deportation scheme with Rwanda is implicated in worsening the violence, if no one is attempting to radicalize you about this genocide that you, as a consumer-user of tech are directly complicit in, ask yourself why.

Trying to get around to posting this video, and the BTS associated with it. It’s been hard and overwhelming, to say the least. I’m not quite ready yet, but here are some stills.

Valéria Dienes (1879-1978) dancer, teacher, and choreographer, considered the most important exponent of the Hungarian tradition in movement art. 

In 1915 she founded a school, which she called "Orkesztika” (”Orchestrics”), incorporating her own ideas of motion. Evaluating the interrelationships of dynamics, kinetics, mimetics, and rhythmics, she created her own system to teach eurythmics and provide students with an understanding of the strength, space, expression and time needed to create dance.
