Week #5- Animation Movie Composition
This movie quote comes from Joy in the animated movie, ‘Inside Out.’
Addressing the first element of this composition which is colour, I chose a soft blue hue. Blue is a calming colour and does not distract from the words on the composition.
The typeography is sans serif so it appears clean and in straight lines. As the element this week is lines, I wanted to emulate this with the chosen typography.
The eye follows a transitional movement composition. The eye begins in the top left corner and moves horizontally. It then moves vertically and finally back horizontally. This is an unusual eye movement pattern for the viewer yet it does not confuse them as the path is clear to follow.
‘Look’ is capitalized because it makes the viewer really focus and concentrate on the sentence. Furthermore, ‘Inside of their head?’ This is emphasized because it is the essence of the movie quote. Again, this makes the viewer concentrate and really think about the question being asked.
Horizontal and vertical lines are addressed in this composition through the movie quote. Lastly, the element of lines is used by the emphasis on ‘look’ and ‘inside their head?’ as I added emphasis by increasing the stroke of these words.
Overall, I chose this quote because I think it is an excellent question to ask yourself. Everyone has a story and everyone is always thinking, reflecting or anticipating the coming moments of life in their head. So next person you see, stop and ask yourself, ‘What is going on inside their head?’
