Since Antman is a graphic novel adaptation, does it count as a YA movie?

No, because this is still a YA competition, so it has to be a YA/MG adaptation. Ageless as Paul Rudd is, his character is not a YA in ANT-MAN.

Howdy, game makers! Does Pixels count as a YA movie? The characters start out young adults, but then flash-forward to adulthood for most of the rest of the movie. The movie certainly made me nostalgic for my young adult years in front of my Atari and NES.

Hooray nostalgia! But no, not YA. The only movies we are counting are actual book adaptations. Sorry!

I just saw Pitch Perfect 2 yesterday at the cheap theater (woot for $1 movies!). Will this movie count for points if I take a photo with the ticket stub?

#moviefya points are for YA/MG adaptations only. So for first-run movies, that’d only be ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL and, soon, PAPER TOWNS. But if you end up finding a screening of an older YA/MG adaptation, submit it and we’ll allow it! (But yay, cheap theatres!)
