👽 Exploring Alien: Romulus
Nobodyz Opinion Review – Xeno Level: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Let's talk 'bout it...
In prep for this movie, I went back and watched the rest of the franchise. The day before I saw it, there was a full Alien marathon on. Locked in. It laid the foundation for what to expect from Romulus.
And I gotta say it straight:
This might be the best Alien movie ever made. Here’s why:
👾 Xenomorph Done Right
Over the years, the Xenomorph has evolved—different hosts, environments, vibes. That’s cool. What wasn’t cool in the recent films? CGI Overkill.
As someone who grew up on the golden era of animatronics and puppeteers, I gotta say: practical effects hit different. And this time around? We’re back.
Xenomorph and facehuggers look terrifying again.
CGI used only when necessary (like those running/jumping facehuggers).
The horror? It’s tangible again.
🛠️ Set Design That Makes Sense
At first, I was like:
“It’s 2144—why everything look old and scrapped?”
Then it hit me—Romulus is set between Alien and Aliens. And the set matches that perfectly.
The grime, the tension, the industrial hellscape— If you've seen the OGs, you’ll feel right at home.
🔗 Franchise Connections
If you’ve been following the saga, you know the timeline jumps all over the place. That means questions—and plot holes.
Prometheus started it
Covenant added a few answers But now...
Romulus ties together: Prometheus, Covenant, Alien and Aliens.
I won’t spoil it, but if you know, you know 👀 True fans will catch the threads.
🧬 Rain Carradine: A New Ripley
No one replaces Ellen Ripley. She's iconic. But we finally got someone cut from the same cloth.
Not seen since 1986 (Aliens)
Rain steps into her own lane while channeling that same energy
It’s not a copy—it’s an homage to what made Ripley legendary
No disrespect to Alien 3, but Rain gives us the Ripley we missed.
👁️ Final Thoughts
This movie hit for me. It’s not for the casuals. To really love Romulus, you gotta know the lore.
But even if you don’t, it’s still worth watching. 👉 [FULL REVIEWS] 👈
