Resting In The Valley

We didn’t have a destination in mind when we did the Hiking Track 437. So when we came across this very nice valley, we decided that this was the it, our destination... We rested in this valley for about thirty minutes, then hiked back to our jump off point.

Very underrated location and we had the whole valley to ourselves.

Year 36 - A Year Full Of Job 38 Moments

The highlight of year 36 was getting to see the Dolomites. I feel like God was asking me the same questions he asked Jon (in Job 38) when I was there...

Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said: “Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me. Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements - surely you know!”

There were so many Job 38 moments in my 36th year. Moments when, like Job, I question the things God is letting happen in life. But just as many times as I have doubts would give me the reminders of the question he asked in Job 38:4:

Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.

...but despite all of these moments, God has been faithful. And I am grateful to him for giving me another year.

Moving Postcards: Looped Live Photos

At first I hated the iPhone’s ‘Live Photos’ format. I feel like you’re cheating photography when you’re using it and each photo (if you could call it that) takes up a lot of storage space… But then I realized that shooting in this format has its unique creative opportunities. Like the ‘Loop’ mode, if you time your shots properly, add a BGM, and place it in a nice frame, you can make great Moving Postcards.

I first discovered Moving Postcards on Threads and I’ve been fascinated with the concept ever since. Every time I photograph a wonderful scene in front of me, I record a five to fifteen (5 to15)-second video for a Moving Postcard...
