name: Moyasu Kamera

I’m guessing moyasu comes from the Japanese verb for ‘to burn,’ so I’m guessing her accident had something to do with fire? I actually do like this for her… so I think I’m going to make her a victim of a Flash Burn as a reference to her camera theme, since a camera flash is a sudden and intense light… Yeah, that sounds good. 

How about we change her first name to Niphab? This is a reference to Niphablepsia, another common name for Photokeratitis, which is a flash burn of the eyes, sometimes from exposure to UV Rays. It’s especially common in snowy places where UV rays reflect off the snow.

For her surname we could do Bokeuh, which is one of the pronunciations of Bokeh, the photography technique of creating little orbs of colored light as a way of communicating background light simplistically. It’s defined as “the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light.” This is a good reference her photography interest, her eyesight difficulties, and the fact that she probably feels hazy and out of focus, her motivation lost.

How about hushedShutterbug, since she lost her motivation to sing? It’s also an interesting commentary on a loss of motivation entirely, since shutterbug is at least partially a reference to the sound a shutter makes. If her shutter has been hushed, she’s less enthusiastic or open about what she used to love. 

Quirk: s-stutters o-on basica-cally e-everyth-thing.

Try to remember that people stutter on hard sounds more often than soft sounds! And that letters aren’t the only way to stutter. You can repeat words or entire phrases, sometimes, when you have a stutter. Otherwise I think this is a good quirk. 

Special Abilities (if any): She can sometimes see, but not things around her.

With the photokeratitis reference I made, I’d definitely like her not being able to see forms and only being able to differentiate dark from light (much like a caterpillar, cough cough)… She’s a rust, so she’ll have telekinetic abilities of some sort, though! Maybe she can… navigate with sound, kind of how many bugs do? 

Lusus/pet??: Wolfmom

Wolfs are unfortunately common… How about like a woolly bear caterpillar? It’s one of the only creatures that can survive in the arctic circle and links back to that snowy UV reference I made! 

Personality: Mo is a very nervous troll, not trusting anyone. She used to be a lot more outgoing, but after the accident she lost all confidence, especially because she was a lowblood. She is quiet, hardly ever talking at all. If you befriend her and gain her trust, when you are alone with her she changes. She becomes more energetic. She takes pictures of everything so that when she gets her sight back she can see all the beautiful things she missed.

You’ve not mentioned what her accident ways, so can I recommend? Since rustbloods are naturally adventurous, maybe she took a trip up north to try to photograph an eclipse and the sun reflecting on the snow messed her up bad! 

Interests: Photography and singing. She never sings anymore.

I like this base, but I feel like you could probably flesh her out more. Does she have a favorite kind of photography? Does she prefer bird’s eye views? Or simple portraits? Does she like candid pics better? Wildlife photography? Architectural? Landscape? Conceptual? And if she has a preference out of those, what Makes her prefer it? Think about stuff like that!

D/ancestor: The Murmurer, Stella Kamera

I do like that title considering the quieted nature of this character… but maybe The Obscuras could also be a good one.

Title: Seer of Space

Hmmm. I’m waffling on this one a great deal… Because I think what she really needs it to get back into the game and become actively involved in her own healing… I think Space is a good title for her, because it’s all about the recycling, regrowth, the ability to move forward and change, take on new forms of life, and that’s something she needs, too… Maybe Mage of Space? 

Land: Land of Lost Galaxies and Frogs

Hows about Land of Frames and Frogs, where each frog is trapped in a still photographic frame?

Dream Planet: Derse

Try to focus on her dissatisfaction and her looking at the past a lot to justify this!

Design: 

Horns: I edited them because the lining on the orange looked a little awkward. 

Hair: I added a few more bits to it to make it spikier and swoopier.

Eyes: I was really dedicated to the flash burn and eye injury idea, so… I put some flash burns over the top part of her head and through her eyebrows. We’ve seen through Chahut (and bloodshot eyes Terezi) that trolls have darker sclera color when they’re strained, so I went with the brighter orange and then also surrounded it with the blood color makeup to really push the irritated image. I also made some of her makeup running, as if she has watery eyes. 

Mouth: I moved the mouth up to better fit the Homestuck proportions. 

Shirt/shoes: I did like the shirt because it definitely fits the image of a character without any motivation. I thickened the outline to make it fit the style better. I fixed up the outline on the shoes as well. 

She’s an interesting character with a lot of potential! Thank you for sharing!

FURSONA NOVEL PART 3

"No thanks SPIRIT, pre-heat the shower please."I turn and pick up a pair of shorts and a wrinkled shirt, as well as a towel before stepping out of my room. When I enter the bathroom, the shower starts up right away, steaming the small room up almost right away. After stripping off the boxers I step in, letting the warm water wash over me and soak into my fur. Grabbing the body wash/shampoo/conditioner 3in1 bottle I briefly lather up before stepping back again to let the water wash the suds off. (If you have any thoughts/opinions please let me know^~^)

“Good morning, Moyasu.” A clear, feminine voice spoke from hidden speakers on the mirror. “Morning SPIRIT.” I give a big yawn, and SPIRIT chirps. “Scans indicating peices of chocolate cake within your mouth. Recommendations: Commence a full oral hygene cycle.
