tiring it was, settling into a brand new place, with brand new people in a brand new city. it wouldn’t be the first time daniel had moved — the truth was in fact the complete opposite, having moved from building to building, never staying long enough in one place to label it his home.
but here, within this odd place called mount phoenix, the young adult was offered a home — or rather, an apartment — but a home nevertheless. daniel wasn’t sure for how long he would remain, if he would decide on sticking around after he had found the answers he had come to look for. but for now, he would take his time to settle down and explore the area, familiarizing himself with his new surroundings so he at least wouldn’t get lost during the time of his stay.
boxes were placed down in corners of the room and clothes had been wiped from the dust that had clung onto the fabric. he would unpack later — for now the bed had been made so that the man had a place to sleep. but now, it was time for a celebratory drink, to congratulate himself and make a toast for the future to come.
hair slicked back and dressed in a white dress shirt along with black slim-fit jeans and a pair of cleanly polished shoes, daniel adjusted the thin silver frame on his nose as he glanced up at the flashy sign he had stumbled upon after leaving his new home. burlesque club and lounge, it read. as most clubs came along with a bar, and with the exterior already pleasing to the eye, the young man decided this would be the place he was going to spend his money on tonight.
completely unaware of what the building hid inside, daniel headed through the doors, chocolate orbs swiftly scanning his surroundings before he settled himself down at the bar.
❝ one espresso martini, please. ❞ he voiced his order to the bartender before glancing at the one male that occupied the bar beside him. although it would have been better if there was no one around at all, daniel could deal with the presence of one or two other people. the young adult sighed softly, leaning back in his seat. it felt like his first night in mount phoenix was going to be a good one.
