hi! don't mean to be rude or anything by asking but i've been in the ouat fandom for like, a long time lol and you're one of my fave writers so i was wondering if you were going to finish writing breaking in or if you've 100% moved on to other fandoms? anyways you're an awesome writer
Not rude at all! And thank you for your kind words!
I DO still intend to finish Breaking In, I'd really like to see it through to the end. I've just been talking a wander into other fandoms for a bit to get back into the writing groove. I hit a pretty bad wall of writer's block (I know what I need to write for BIn, the writing just wasn't...writing. lol) so I needed to get back in the habit.
And then this year has just been... crazy. I was in a really good writing groove during the late winter and the spring, and then I went back to work at the theatres in May and was back to working 7 days a week and it just...sucked up all my energy and time to write.
So I decided to cut back (also we were having another COVID wave right as Broadway ended its mask mandate, and no thank you to THAT...), and gave notice that I was taking another semi-permanent leave from the theatre job starting July 11th. My husband and I had talked it over, and he was going to start working weekends, so I could have them off for writing and to figure out some kind of side hustle that could bring in some money that would be more rewarding than the theatre work had become. July 12th, my husband had an accident on his scooter on the way to work and shattered his knee. So... life's been a bit crazy since then. lol He needs assistance for pretty much everything, because it's a non-weight-bearing break, and he's had two surgeries and just finished a week in the hospital. So my grand plans to get back to a regular writing habit have been a bit...derailed. lol
tl;dr: But YES I do still plan to finish Breaking In, eventually.
what the FUCK
My parents are seeing Kinky Boots at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, and my elementary school band teacher is the principle trumpet tonight.
I seriously wish I could go there and say hi and let him know how much music impacted my life, and it all started with him. So I'll just say it here.
Thanks Mr. Brad Allison for getting me started in music.
