Rofl, a Man from UNCLE page I follow on Facebook just posted an old piece of fan art I made and shared here back at the height of my TMFU obsession. That was the absolute last thing I expected to see on my wall!
Ian Fleming created James Bond. But he also had a hand in creating the TV show The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
According to the book The James Bond Films, Fleming was asked to help develop the series by the show's co-creator, Norman Felton. He proposed two characters, Napoleon Solo and April Dancer (later appearing on the spin-off series The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.). The original name for the show was Ian Fleming's Solo.
