I will never shut up about hd power ending being a Bad Ending for the pc involved. I feel like it truly encapsulates the cosmic horror aspect of FL because like. Being in the Neath you realize there are powers much greater than yourself in this world. But the Masters are still like...comprehensible. And then you, foolishly, think that if you become one of them, there will be nothing more above you. The Masters of the Bazaar are the Most Powerful forces. You've won. And then.... suddenly, your eyes are opened to the reality of the situation. The Masters are not only NOT the most powerful things out there, but they're actually kind of... losers, in the cosmic scheme of things? Like, the Bazaar itself, the Judgments, etc. are all more powerful than Curators in general. And the Masters are the pathetic exiles from Curator society. And now you've positioned yourself with them. I think I said it before but it's truly like you tried to climb upwards and ended up jumping onto the very bottom rung of a ladder you didn't know existed. It's almost a punishment by the narrative. You have power you could only dream of. You've given up everything to achieve it. And now you're more vulnerable than you've ever been, and there's a tiny part of you that's screaming this is wrong, that you don't want to lose that last shred of humanity, but...it's too late. You can't go back. And there are things watching you who hold more power than the Masters, things that are so huge that you can scarcely comprehend the level of danger you've placed yourself in.
