I've had a thought.

Every time Rimmer runs into another hologram, something goes wrong.

Holoship - they wanted him to change everything about him and be someone he wasn't.

Quarantine (same series as Holoship btw!) - talks to crazy doctor lady over the radio, catches her virus, goes insane and nearly dies a second time.

Camille - finds someone who finally understands him but turns out she's a pleasure gelf and that's how she's made and she's actually more interested in Kryten than him, and also has a gelf husband that's also a blob.

Legion - I'm counting this bc Legion is made up of all of them and he tries to keep the boys captive, plus who hates Rimmer more than himself? We've all seen Terrorform.

Trojan - meets his brother again (I don't remember which one) and his brothers were never nice to him, if memory serves. Also, has to watch his brother die and bc his brother saved Rimmer from being shot he ended up getting a posthumous award which must really sting.

Yeah, I'm writing a fic where he meets a hologram and things don't go wrong for him. Yes, it's that concept from before.
