RJ on Signing to DJ Mustard, YG and Mustard Splitting Affecting Everyone

Rising L.A. rapper RJ spoke to VladTV about linking up with YG and DJ Mustard through his manager, which led to RJ signing to DJ Mustard's label. He explained that he felt like they could see the hunger in him and decided to work with him on multiple projects.  From there, RJ spoke about how DJ Mustard and YG's brief beef and split caused a shift in their crew, which RJ said allowed him to transition into "Mr. L.A." RJ on Joining the Bloods, Following His Father and Uncles

Rising L.A. rapper RJ spoke to VladTV about growing up in South Central and attending five different high schools. He also spoke about being the only Blood in a school full of Crips and how his dad and uncles were also Bloods, so RJ felt born into the situation. During the conversation, RJ spoke about not being good at rapping at first and using it as his therapy. RJ caps off his Mr. LA West Coast tour with the release of his crisp new video "Want Me Broke." The clip, directed by Kenneth Wynn, finds RJ cruising on a Los Angeles summer day, recreating his glorious hitting up the radio station celebrity basketball game coached by Nick Cannon and Big Boy. The video goes on to include footage from RJ's closing show, which features special guest appearances from ScHoolboy Q, Snoop Dogg, Don Kennedy, and OT Genesis. It wouldn't be a West Coast video without a slow motion shot of Snoop Dogg blowing weed smoke into the air, would it? Directed by Kenneth Wynn.
