About to spend a night with Neil Gaiman!!
a funny mr lil story...
Everyone has been so thoughtful and kind about my poor sick husband, I thought I’d share an amusing story about him.
When I got to his room today (he’s still in ICU) he was sitting up in a chair with his back to the door. I move in front of him and bend down so I can kiss his forehead. I say, “Hey! It’s good to see you sitting up!” His eyes move from my face, like they listlessly drop and I think for a moment that he is a bit stoned (my boi is a weak-tit when it comes to narcotics, anything gets him high and I know they were giving him percs for pain). He says, “It’s really good to see you.” then looks me in the eyes again. I pat his face and ask how he’s feeling and his eyes drop again. “It’s really good to see you, love” he says. Ah... what? I ask again how he’s feeling and now he just staring at my chest. Finally, he smiles, smirks actually, and says, “It’s really, really good to see so much of you.” then winks.
That’s when I realize that because of how I’m standing, and the combo of a v-neck tee and push-up bra, that I’m flashing him most of my breasts.
Now he chuckles (full laughs still hurt too much) and says, “d’you wear that titty shirt just for me? I think you might be trying to kill me, woman! You know I have to keep my heart rate down!”
So, yeah, he’s fine. If he can sexually harass me whilst cracking himself up, he’s on the road to recovery.
It made my day!
Mr Lil forged this pendant for me today out of about a buck fifty in quarters! That's his touch mark (should that be hyphenated?) Which is some kind of metal working...thing. It's a little bee made with his initials. I think he's claimed me! 🤔
My husband's the cutest blacksmith ever!!
My husband orders me free samples of makeup, skin and hair care products. I just randomly get these odd tiny things in the mail. I think that's adorable and wanted to share.
P's costume. Done and done.
Ask meme: if I met you ....I'd surreptitiously try to steal your hubby - Your Stealing Hubby Nonny ;) also I'll gush about you cause you're super cool and I'd feel like meeting my hero!
AHHH! I’ve missed you, HSN!! And you are too, too sweet! Okay, I have a little Mr Lil story for you...
So, my husband is a nurse at a government facility and the other day a son brought his (maybe 3-year-old) daughter in to visit her grandpa. Well, evidently, there was also a newborn (or ‘freshy’ as Mr Lil called it) that they didn’t want to bring into the hospital for obvious reasons, so they were going to take grandpa down to the car to see the baby.
Mr Lil is helping get the patient (grandpa) ready for the trip down and the little girl is staring at him - Mr Lil is a big guy and has dark brown hair, big green eyes and a full red beard, that’s important... She’s wearing a How to Train Your Dragon teeshirt, so my husband asks if she likes the movies, she says “yes” excitedly. Then the patient tells his granddaughter that my husband is a blacksmith in his spare time. Mr Lil says “like, Gobber”. Well, now she’s asking Mr Lil all kind of questions and wants to help push Grandpa to the elevator and whatnot. Mr Lil is all talking about the movies and show (yes, we’re fans) and they’re all into it. Once they get to the elevator, my husband hears her whisper, “Daddy... I think he’s a Viking and I think I love him.” to her dad.Made my husband’s day!!Thanks again, Nonny! Hugs!!
So, some possibly bad news regarding Mr Lil. His orthopedist thinks it's time to move onto surgical options for his back. Spinal fusion is looking like the best option at the moment - we'll know more after his MRI which is yet to he scheduled. For now, the doc is shoving pills at my husband ('cause that's the American way) and telling him to "take it easy". An impossible task for a man who just signed a 30 year mortgage, but okay thanks.
The positives? The fusion surgery isn't as invasive as it was 15 years ago (when my dad had it done and, due to complications and a preexisting condition, he died post-OP, but I'm absolutely NOT focusing on THAT little fact!) If all goes well, Mr Lil could be back to normal within a month.
I would appreciate any prayers, love, thoughts and interweb hugs while we deal with this. As you all know, I adore my husband and cannot stand seeing him hurt.
My Twitter notifications tonight. Jeremy 'scribble mark' is my husband. When I saw the first one (NCW) I said, "babe, you and my boyfriend both followed the White House today. WHY!?" His reply, "me? It's a know thy enemy sort of thing. No idea why your boyfriend followed."
Seconds later, I see the Nat Geo one. "Hey! You and my girlfriend both followed National Geographic! Back off, yo!" He deadpanned, "what can I say, love, I run in some exclusive circles. "
I love that man! Anyway, Bramie forever!!!
