Cafe Shenanigans

*The Mean Bean Grinding Machine cafe was one of those strange paradoxes of the universe where it was hip with everyone AND made good coffee. It was 2 stories of sitting area with quiet atmosphere and lovely scenery. There was the regular outdoor patio part along with the ground floor tables and booths. Upstairs was a little more of a relaxed atmosphere with couches and lounge chairs. The roof was open almost year round, and usually was covered with holiday decorations.

It was such a lovely day that the windows and doors downstairs were wide open. Since it was still very early most people preferred sitting downstairs so they could hurry on back to work in case they spent too long with their coffees. Only one man was enjoying the solace of the roof, and he was enjoying it was a lovely thick slice of red velvet cake and a cup of steaming black coffee*

((Hey hey sweetheart it's okay :0 try not to worry to much about the ringing in your ears. Stress is bad for the body. Try to take deep breaths and relax. Have you considered going to a doctor?

I’m in China right now, so I might go to a doctor once I get home, but until then I don’t know what to do. My mother says the ringing might go away after a few days, so I’ll try to relax and think of it that way. I just wish my anxiety wouldn’t compound so much at the moment...

Trolley Ride Through Downtown Midnight City

*The trolley’s leading deeper into the city were large, about the size of  a wide bus, they even had multiple cars lined up. The exterior was a royal purple, dark in color, that shone with tiny rainbow waves whenever the sunlight caught it just right. The inside was a strange mixture of fancy yet cozy. Dark brown hardwood flooring matched the intricately carved wooden booth frames that held incredibly soft chair pads. There was enough room for the booths to face each other on each side of the aisle, a table fitted against the wall could be slid down between the booths in case refreshments were available.

It wasn’t particularly late, which made it a most unfortunate traveling time. Young adults crammed multiple booths on their way to the large shopping districts and eateries. Gaggles of dames tittering with their bags overflowing their seats, they were catching the last few shopping hours available. Others were stuck sitting next to random strangers in an attempt to get to work on time.

Since the back car was half filled with a counter with drinks and snacks for long rides most people filled the trolley from the rear to the front. The front was quieter anyway. Near the middle of the first car sat a man, tightly pressed suit, all black, frowning at some sort of papers he had in front of him. He had a small leather suitcase nestled behind his back, keeping it safely between him and the plush seat. He had the good luck of having the only open booth to himself. This also meant he had the bad luck of getting any new passengers as his new booth mates.*

Die jumped a bit, not expecting Crowbar of all the felt to fall asleep and slump over onto him. He glanced over to him and sighed. It’d probably be better to not make him mad and bother him.
