Kronwall Suspended For Game Seven So Babcock Can Get To Toronto Quicker
Before I get into my take on this, I would like to mention a few things. First of all, I am not a big hockey fan. I watch the Wings on occasion. I know the sport well. I played it poorly for 12 years and still keep a fairly good track of what goes on in the NHL today. Basically what I’m saying is compared to literally ever single person in Detroit, I have a way more bias opinion on all things Red Wings.
With that being said, this is one of the worst calls I have ever seen in my entire life.
If this was the regular season, I totally get they are trying to make the game not fun anymore and penalizing ever big hit. That’s why I stopped watching but hey, it really is totally fine with me. Suspend him for 12 games. Who cares.
But to do it to a guy who has never been suspended, who CLEARLY doesnt leave his feet (obviously he had to regain balance and lifted his skate up briefly AFTER THE HIT. I did not think this was the NBA), for a loser goes home, must win game, is fucking insane. Oh and he’s our best defenseman.
Its obvious Babcock is out of town but for the NHL to stick their hand in the pot like this is ridiculous.
