comment: oh how delicious this fic is! it’s sexy and sweet, with an amazing dynamic between alex and michael that is so charged right from the beginning. i love the kylex bro moments in this, the inclusion of the other characters like the ortecho sisters, and the differing povs are fantastic. we’re here for the malex though of course, and this fic delivers in spades. d/s elements usually imply a level of communication and attention to consent that is really satisfying, and this dynamic is absolutely one of my favourites to read. i would love to see more of this. it’s just so good!

Alex pauses with his beer halfway to his mouth, starts to respond, then takes a deep swig instead. Temperatures haven’t dipped out of the triple digits all week, and the only think keeping them from a slow, sweaty death is the anxious whine of the generator that powers the cabin. As Michael has clearly lost his mind, Alex lightly picks up his phone from the table and thumbs over to message Kyle..

While working outside in the summer heat, Michael keeps cool in a way that doesn't stay cool for long.

comment: hal’s nsfw fics are consistently delicious. it’s not just that the smut is wonderfully written, rich with imagery and clever dialogue. i feel like every fic, even if the purpose is purely smut, always add an understanding of alex and michael’s dynamic. this fic is no exception, with a healthy dose of alex’s pov to show us how well he knows michael, how much he cares for his happiness and wellbeing, and how good michael makes him feel in return. that being said, the fic is nsfw so check the tags before you read and enjoy, please!

They’re in their weekly meeting to go over his schedule and discuss photoshoot requests, and today, Isobel looks like a cat who caught not one but two mice.

“Alex Manes?” he asks incredulously. Alex Manes is a star to anyone who follows the photography world, each of his works charged with an edge of something that is as palpable as it is intangible, a pervading sense of eroticism or mystery or some other sensation, flitting as in a dream and yet immersive as a nightmare. He takes the science of light and angles and exposure and turns it into art, into magic..

Alex is a photographer. Michael is a model. The rest is history and a delightful au.

comment: i remember seeing teasing posts about this fic and just waiting for a hint of it on ao3. it did not disappoint, so i was thrilled when a second part popped up and it turned out to be even longer. great exploration of a burgeoning relationship; the bdsm themes require michael and alex to communicate and y’all know that is my jam. honestly, my favourite part is the epilogue, when things come full circle in a very sweet way. as always; check those tags before diving in. the bdsm is heavier in the second part.

comment: i’ve never really read dark!fic before so this was a first for me. it makes so much sense as a “what if” though; the premise being that antarians are conquerors and michael has come to conquer earth. this one’s actually a series, and goes on to take glimpses at michael and alex’s future (no spoilers, just in case you haven’t read it already!) it is, like the description claims, mostly porn, and there’s also some really interesting ideas in here as well, plot-wise and alien-lore-wise. if you’re in the mood for some sultry, dark, indulgent stuff that’s written like a dream; look no further! though, do check out those tags before you dive in. as can be expected of dark!fic; some aspects might not be for everyone. also, points for great titles.

And, oh, it was as if Michael had run his burning fingers down Alex's spine, that sound. He wanted to freeze, to run, but that was an option long gone. He wanted to turn, to have some excuse ready: some reason he was here, alone, truckless, standing with the moon in his eyes and his heartbeat pounding copper under his tongue.

Michael opened the door, shirtless, in hastily-buttoned jeans. His hair even more tousled than he normally 'kept' it, eyes scanning the junkyard, body held crooked with sleep. He squinted, shaking his head a little like he was trying to clear it, his eyes widening in the starlight.

He croaked, hand on the screen door: "Alex? What -- what are you doing here?"

Alex comes to the Airstream at midnight; he just wants to sleep. Pre 1x09.

comment: um this fic is... *chef’s kiss*. i keep thinking of it as “communication porn” because that’s what it bloody is. if all you’ve ever wanted from the show was for these two rowdy boys to sit down and have a damn conversation; this is the 24 chapter (and counting) fic for you. sometime pre 1x09, michael and alex sit down, address that they want to be together, and set some ground rules for figuring out their relationship. what follows is a loosely canon-adjacent story (as in, it addresses many of the canon story beats) that makes me cry with happiness at every update. it is so tender throughout the whole thing, even when dealing with tough themes or conversations that might be awkward if not for the way they’re written. words can’t describe how much i adore this fic. please do yourself a favour and set aside some time to read it (it’s already over 100k); it is well worth the time and the the box of tissues for your tears.

There's a something inside Michael, an unearthly desperation that all three of them possess, that calls out to be satisfied. As far as he's seen, it's something he can only get by giving in and handing his will over to someone else. Humans have correlaries in their BDSM games but humans don't need it the way they do, to be stay sane, to be whole. It's another alien thing that keeps Michael from feeling at home in this world.

And then he meets Alex.

The BDSM AU no one asked for where the all the 47 Crash aliens are have biologically determined D/s dynamic while humans are just human.

comment: you guys!! this fic is based in such a fascinating concept. bdsm au is one thing, but bdsm au based on alien biology? genius!! this could easily become overdone or too much but the writing is well balanced and so poetic at times that i totally forget what i’m reading. more than that, i’m super intrigued by the dynamics going on in this story, especially as they pertain to michael + alex, and i can’t wait to see where this author goes with everything!! it goes without saying that this story is highly nsfw and has a great number of tags/warnings. please make sure to have a read through those before you dive into the fic so that no one gets a nasty surprise. it’s totally worth it though, i promise!!

“My head is exploding. I'm not even sure what to believe in some of these files.” Michael shut the one he'd been looking at.

Alex wasn't sure whether to be impressed or amused by how clean he'd kept his work station at the table - returning the files to their proper drawers before pulling out more. Complaining when he found one out of alphabetical order, and about the lack of proper reference numbers and color coding. It was strangely adorable.

Michael stretched over the back of the chair with a groan, and Alex found his eyes drawn to him. Shirt riding up to show the flat planes of his stomach, head arched to show off the vulnerable curve of his throat.

Alex and Michael make good use of the Project Shepherd Bunker.

comment: i believe that this fic (which now has two chapters!!) can best be described as “bunker sex”. that’s what it is and it doesn’t have to be any more complicated than that because damn does it work. the dialogue is quick and witty, which is how i love these boys talking, and the accompanying description/action is delicious. honestly the thought of them having sex in all the bunkers is just so hilarious to me and i’m glad that someone took on the momentous task of writing it out.
