I suspect the issue that slaps hard for a person will depend on their nostalgia. I stopped buying the magazine after I graduated high school in 2012 so I don't have the same level as nostalgia for the 2014 issues. I'll flip through it again to refresh my memory, but I'm sure you just have nostalgia bias-
>This is the issue with the 'Pig In the Blanket' costume with a skirt that just has the word 'PIG!' printed repeatedly on it
>This is also the issue with the story story contest winner with illustrations that make it look like the shy girl who could be The One (friend) is flirting
I found it! I found it! I found it! I found it! I found it! I found it! I found it! I found it! I found it! I found it! I found it! I found it! I found it!
Finally!
After six months, I finally found a fucking DVD copy of Resident Evil: Retribution!!!!!!!!!
I'm still hanging onto the links you sent me, though. I'm gonna scour it for details like I'm checking someone for lice with a million fine-toothed combs.
There's some stuff there you won't find in any physical release, so I would definitely recommend if you, like me, enjoy absorbing every single piece of Retribution-related footage avaliable <3
love ur blog it's inspiring me to try re-plotting/ actually writing my own RE fanfic (saga) taking place in the games' continuity but with elements from the movies. Seeing someone else as obsessed with the movies as I was when I first saw them gives me hope I can reach back into that feeling and be able to make it bloom again.
Asdkshk thank you <3 It's SO fun to mesh the universes in different ways. I hope that shit does bloom for you!!! Good luck with your writing!!!
hey! since you're the RE movie blorbo I have a question that idk if you can answer but I'll take any kind of info I can get.
Is there any way to access RE Retribution bonus features online anywhere? Like behind the scenes stuff or audio commentaries? I tried looking for the DVD myself but that specific movie seems to be mysteriously sold out in my usual hunting grounds and I don't wanna buy a Blu-ray player for the blu-ray version.
If you're wondering why I want to know about this specifically, it's for an essay I'm writing (for fun) about a queer interpretation of the series.
Any info is appreciated!
Oh!! Holy FUCK I wish I had access to my laptop right now. There are two commentary tracks for the movie. One with Milla Jovovich, Paul W.S. Anderson, and Boris Kodjoe, and I think the other one is Milla, Paul, and Jeremy Bolt. I downloaded them in mp3 format from the Internet Archive a while back, bundled with the commentaries for most of the other movies, but I'm having trouble finding the link again. I promise I will get back to you with that!!
In the meantime, here are some YouTube uploads I have saved for BTS footage/bloopers here, here, here, here, here, and here. Unfortunately, I have yet to really find anything in full, but this is a decent chunk all together.
I have deleted scenes here, here, and here.
If you're interested, these are not included on any physical release, but they are BTS since they're from set: Random clips Milla filmed on her phone here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here! I don't even think that's all of them. Also, this and this show snippets of Milla and/or Sienna BTS for the ending fight. Hopefully that makes up for my current lack of commentary links in some way </3
I started keeping tabs (not directly following) on your blog because of the scan project and noticed the issues that were missing. I have several AG magazines, going from September/October 2008 to the end of the magazine's run (with bonus material like posters missing because I was one of those kids) and thought I could potentially pitch in some effort. How do you scan?
(sorry if this is written weird, I've been waiting to ask this question for a while and didn't know a concise way to phrase it)
Hello, thank you for reaching out! I'm so glad you're interested in helping me out with the scan project!
If you're looking for information on what specific scanners I use for the project, I've answered someone's question about it before over here! Long story short: as long as you send me JPG files at 300dpi, whatever scanner you use is fine! There will be some scanners that will make scanning an entire magazine issue a lot faster, but ultimately use whatever you have access to!
Be sure to check my list of AG issues I currently have in my collection! I try to note down any inserts/pages I'm missing, but I only tend to notice them when doing cleanup. Inserts tend to be the first thing missing, so if you don't have time to scan an entire issue, even just sending me scans of the inserts can help a lot!
When it comes time to send me the scans, uploading the files via an online file sharing such as google drive then sending me a link to said drive is probably the easiest way of sending the files over!
I'll get around to making a dedicated page with scanning instructions/specifications soon! That way folks can get the details on how to help out without having to send an ask!
