Till the day I don't need to explain.....

I got told today that its not a good Idea for me to speak out publicly about social issues our communities are facing and that I should just stick to building my business, because if I don’t I will lose business…. See that is just it, my business is affected by everything from economic development to social justice issues - We need to create a system that works for all not just a few- I will keep standing up till real change is made. Till I don’t need to explain to my brown children to watch out for those who are suppose to protect them. Till the day that I don’t need to tell my step son he needs to keep recording devices handy to protect him and to protect his brown sisters because of those who would misuse the rules to exploit them. Till the day when I don’t have to tell my daughters how to protect themselves from being raped in places of education or harassed in jobs. Till the day that I’m not the only parent teaching his son not to rape and that it’s not how the woman dresses or acts it’s how he acts that counts. Till the day when change means #change and not just used as a political tool for election. Till the day where my children won’t have to worry about paying for school and Till the day where money doesn’t keeps them from getting an education. Till the day when we truly #supportourtroops and give them the #wages, #healthcare and opportunities they deserve for serving our country. Till the day when my friends and family who are #veterans get all the support and services they need. Till the day we look out for #MainStreet like we look out for #WallStreet. Till the day my family and friend of all colors, ethnicity, religious beliefs and genders are treated equally. Till the day when seniors will not have to choose over food and medicine. Till we pay a living wage to all so that they can buy my products- #Socialjustice and #EconomicJustice is my Business till then and I will continue to stand up for it!

When we are talking about Gentrification and effects Major part of tackling housing is tackling wages, workforce training and inequality in areas. All while building affordable housing stock. As we have been seeing by not dealing with these issues all at once our economic stability around world will be effected by huge ups and downs. We need innovative programs and to put our money where our mouth is. It is an ecosystem after all... You also don't need a economic degree or PhD to figure this out
