My first post! So i got positive feedback about my music post idea so here we go! My first post of I hope a lot more!! From now on I will be tagging these posts with #mrecs and the date they were posted eg. #130616 (13th of June 2016) so you guys can find them! Artists:
Flume - Starting off with promoting my country, Australian DJ Flume recently released his new album Skin and its definitely something I’ve been listening to. I’m sure you’ve probably heard some tracks on the radio such as Never Be Like You feat. Kai and I must say its definitely one of my favourites! But I’d have to say Lose It feat. Vic Mensa would have to be one of my favourites from this great album! Heres his youtube channel, definitely check him out all his songs are on there!
E^ST - A small Australian artist I discovered at my Twenty One Pilots concert since she opened for them! If you’re a fan of The 1975 I think you would definitely like her! Her music vibe is definitely like theres! Nothing much else to say another than check her out! Heres her youtube channel, she doesnt have much songs but shes on spotify if you look her up!
Twenty One Pilots, ZAYN and Troye Sivan - Theres actually nothing new here which is why I’m putting them together. I think I’m having serious PCD for Twenty One Pilots which is why I’ve been listening to them so much lately! But being one of my favourite artists, I’ll probably never stop listening to them! Mainly, I’ve been listening to their old stuff like Car Radio or Forest so generally the Regional At Best album which is definitely my favourite album of theirs! Zayn may have released his album ages ago but I’ve still been bopping oops. I don’t really have anything to say aside from the fact that I just really like his new album. Nothing new with Troye Sivan either, Ease is definitely a favourite of mine from Blue Neighbourhood, but i just find his music really relaxing and I like to listen to it on the train or while studying!

Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman: nothing to say aside from how CATCHY this song is! But you’ve all probably heard it!
Non-English: Now I know what you guys are thinking, this section is obviously going to be Korean so why dont you label it as K-Pop instead of Non-English, well I have an answer! The reason why I’m not labelling this as “Kpop” is because its not “Kpop”... I feel like Kpop is a very wide genre and within Kpop theres K-Rock or K-HipHop and I dont want to label artists as genres they dont belong in (kind of like when 5SOS say they arent a boyband because they play their own instruments or how they want to be pop-punk, I respect that). Okay now that this long paragraph is over lets start!
Day6 - A prime example of a band that I wouldn’t classify as “Kpop.” They are extremely unique in Kpop as yes - they play their own instruments. They are technically classified as K-Rock and I think if you enjoy the kind of pop-punk-5sos-band thing and you’re open to listening to Korean music you should definitely check them out! Brian is American and Jae is from Canada if that makes you feel more comfortable. They speak English so when you watch some interviews you wont need subs! GRAY - Korean Hip-Hip artist GRAY is definitely one of my favourites! He’s hella cute but aside from that his music is sO good! He’s under AOMG which is a record company founded by Jay Park (I’m sure most of you would’ve heard of him even if you aren’t into korean music since he’s American and was on ANTM but anyways). So to get you guys into Gray i think you guys should check out his song with Jay Park - Dangerous!
DEAN - How would I explain Dean? I think if you like the alternative r&b genre i think you would enjoy Dean. But even if you aren’t, you should give him a listen, I think most people would enjoy him. Heres one of my favourite tracks from him called 21 and here is one of his more popular/title track Bonnie & Clyde. Also Billboard wrote a small article on him you guys should check it out here.
AKMU - this brother-sister duo will make you shOOK. After being locked away for like 2 years *cough* thanks YG *cough* they have comeback with an amazing mini album ‘Spring.’ Too bad Chanhyuk is going to the ARMY so sadly no new music from Akmu for a while after this *cough* thanks again YG for keeping them in your dungeon for so long fuck you *cough* sorry, I really hate YG anyways... check out their title tracks Re-Bye and How People Move, they’re definitely different than most kpop artists (you might find the music a bit weird but thEY’RE SO CATCHY)
Songs/Albums:
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MOMENT IN LIFE: YOUNG FOREVER - BTS: phew, what a mouthful. How could I not put them in a music rec though? They just released the third part to their trilogy ‘The Most Beautiful Moment In Life’ series titled ‘Young Forever’ and this full album contains all the songs from part 1 and part 2 of the series plus extra remixes and 3 new songs (Fire, Save Me and Young Forever.) I definitely think you guys should check BTS out though, although you’ve probably seen me reblog heaps of them. Please check out one of my favourite tracks of this album Save Me, the dance is lit and the song is soooo good! I honestly love this band so much it hurts also what a coincidence i post this on their 3rd Anniversary, Happy 3 Years with BTS!
EX’ACT - EXO: ah yes, one of the most renowned bands in kpop: EXO. They literally released this full album like a few days ago and let me tell you this comeback is AMAZING. I’m sure if you’re already into kpop, you’ve heard this but listen this album is so good im yELLING. Check out their two main tracks Lucky One and Monster and then check out the whole album. But I’d have to say Cloud 9 is definitely a song i listen to a lot.
AWAKE - KNK: a slightly lesser famous band, KNK. Recently had their debut in March AND a comeback in May (can you believe barely a months rest before they came back). I personally think their debut was brushed away because of NCT-U (dont get me wrong i love NCT-U) but I think everyone should stan KNK. Their vocals are AMAZING and they really deserve the love. Also one of the tallest bands EVER. So they came back with a mini album titled AWAKE so i will link the whole album because just listen to TALENT. Also here is their debut track Knock, the dance is legendary.
The Clan pt. 1 ‘LOST’ - Monsta X: ah yes Monsta X have come back and this album is so good i cant. Their music video for their title track All In is so fricken good. I think you will be surprised. It literally promotes awareness for LGBT relationships and like friendship idk how to explain this im scared of offending people but just watch it its amazing. Also listen to Ex Girl featuring Whee In of Mamamoo its lit one of my favourite songs I love it!
