Do you think that when xigbar/luxu is defeated and says “the old coot promised to bequeath me his keyblade” he was talking of the master of masters and not Xehanort
I’ve heard of this speculation, but I definitely think he was talking about Xehanort. Luxu has done everything for his role given by the Master, so it’s clear he still has respect for him (He still calls him The Master in Observations, and in the Epilogue he’s more reserved with the Foretellers then any other KH character). I seriously doubt he would refer to the Master of Masters as ‘the old coot’.
Plus I doubt Xigbar would finally purposely make a vague reference to his personal past after 13+ years of keeping it an absolute secret (those 13+ years NOT including all the centuries before BbS). And there’s also the fact that the MoM already bequeathed his keyblade to Luxu in Back Cover. If he really wanted it that bad for all these years, he would have ditched his role completely all those years ago and run away with it.
As hypothetically cool as that would seem, realistically it just doesn’t add up to me.
