How I said, I’d draw something for @silkenbride ’s MRN AU. So, I draw this, while I watching the two final episodes of MRN xD

Just a fun little idea I had about the different ways Grimm and Nightmare react when it rains, and how they protect Hornet from the rain.

Grimm is, as always, very courteous and gentlemanly.

Meanwhile, Nightmare simply grabs Hornet and shields her with his jacket. Grimm already knows who’s going to be sick later on. XD

"my royal nemesis" au where everything is the same except it's bugs

hornet is daughter of hallownest and she experiences the canon plot largely the same, but at some point is betrayed and killed. dying, she closes her eyes only to miraculously open them again. the world around her has changed; she's still at the place of her death but now surrounded by strangers and even stranger devices pointed at her.

enter hornet thrown hundreds of years into the future into the body of a struggling actor. dazed and confused, she wanders off set and into the streets where she discovers the bug version of the 21st century. cars and skyscrapers and television and people who speak her tongue, but not exactly. she also just happens to run into a notorious executive when she runs out and faints before his car. when grimm gets out to help this strange and old relic from the past, he's also immediately smitten.

now hornet has to navigate no longer being of the era she's in, learning how history has recorded her past, struggling with the wounds left by her past, and like... figuring out a laundry machine and credit cards and how she's apparently an actor now? there's also the fact this major executive is entangling himself into her life but she can't bring herself to really accept his infatuation.

Wait wait, would Grimm be just as jealous in this modern Au? Would he get upset with other colleagues/employees making moves on Hornet? Does Hornet gossip about her dating older persons bother him? Or is this just motivation?

Would Ngk equivalent in this au just be firing them?

Tell me everything, I want to know it all. I'm invested now. Even ideas or thoughts. Old ladies are on my mind now. It's all your fault 😤

Grimm is still jealous! Not something that changes much on individual AUs, sometimes he just is busier so cannot be properly jealous like he wants to be. Employees or colleagues or god forbid clients do not get a free pass to think they have a chance with Hornet — they make think she is pretty but he thoroughly dashes any notion on them asking her out or trying to flirt. Would give a happy very gentle reminder about who's in charge of paychecks/deals/connections if anyone tries.

He doesn't tell them not to gossip though. It's useful for him because some people see Hornet at different times/states and have knowledge he doesn't. If random employee saw her at the gas station at 2 am buying a yogurt drink he wants to know. Likewise, he's too polite to grill her on her dating history or crushes but he desperately wants to know so he already had someone dig up what was available and also listens in on gossip. Plus, this way he knows who romantic rivals are more likely to be other than NKG's base rule of "every woman that looks at Hornet is a romantic rival". If she only likes aged wines like himself then he only has to keep those in check. So, more motivation than detest!

NKG is the founder/owner of the company! He would never fire Hornet even if she only came into the office to sit down and eat chips and scroll bug TikTok all day. Also wouldn't fire Grimm because Grimm actually does All The Work. He can write Hornet up for HR violations to get her into his office so he can make out with her when just scheduling meetings on her calendar doesn't work. He's mostly just a menace that floats around the company taking care of things behind the scenes — definitely not the one you see at press conferences like Grimm.

I finally started watching "My Royal Nemesis" today; I’ve only seen the first episode so far, but it’s great. I hope it stays this good! :O You’ve successfully influenced me! hehe!

I don’t know if you’ve assigned roles yet or if these characters even exist in your Modern AU. But I have a vision! 👀 Only my two cents' worth of silly thoughts! lol!

But those chauffeur/right-hand guy made me think of Brumm, and the fortune teller who spoke to the princess in the modern setting reminded me of a Snail Shaman or Divine.

So glad you have started it! I have yet to be disappointed by it :) I am not usually someone who likes comedy or watches romcoms but I think it's such a well casted and well made treat!!! Everyone watch My Royal Nemesis!!!!

I wouldn't want any of the Grimm Troupe to be anywhere but where Grimm and NKG are so Divine isn't an option for me as shaman. I love the idea of Brumm being the right hand, though I do suspect if I made him such then he would eventually betray Grimm to keep it in line with his canon self. I doubt the show will take that direction, of course, but there will be necessary changes to account for the bugs.

I actually have the shaman as the Caretaker from Songclave. Since he directly interacts with Hornet and recognizes her as an Old One, I think it makes the most sense for him to be the shaman she relies on in the modern era. Though I guess it could be the chapel maid, too, but I like the grouchy Caretaker a little more.

As it is right now, NKG is loosely in the grandfather's role as founder of the larger company and Grimm as actual head of the company. I suppose I could mimic the succession battle portrayed in the show maybe as Radiance vs Grimm or Grimm vs someone else, but I don't think the AU needs to be as complicated as its inspiration! I've stripped most of the gods of their godhood for the sake of AU, but more changes will happen as I think on it and once the show finishes airing.
