You all turned your heads towards the screens dotted around the room, mainly in curiously to see what Mr Monotone had planned.
It was slow but when the screen flickered to life, from the camera’s perspective you could see a considerably dated CRT computer monitor, with something being displayed.
The camera zoomed in closer and the closer it got the more you could make out the display. It was Ms Squeakers, looking considerable distressed, trapped behind the screen. The Camera continued zooming until the computer screen filled up the camera’s field of view or whatever,
This way Ms Squeakers was in the centre. Your (debatably) favourite teacher was banging against the screen, expressing emotions that you weren’t sure that the - until now - holographic mouse was able to convey.
She was crying, desperately glitching and fizzling as she tried to yell. Her glitching became worse and worse until-
The Blue screen went blue, displaying a basic error message. It didn’t take a genius to guess...
So the event wasn’t nearly as active as what you had all anticipated it to be... but there wasn’t really much protest. Ms Squeakers was leaving you to do what you wanted to with the event that had transpired. It might not have been too intelligent but, you did what you wanted.
“Children Children~ If you’d all like to go to your rooms right now, there’s something important you’ll be dying to see!”
In your confusion from the last time you were told to visit your rooms, you all went back because of story purposes and maybe even curiosity.
Upon entering your rooms, you see that every walled surface was ‘decorated’ with TV screens. There wasn’t a place in your room where you weren’t in view of a television.
And then Ms Squeakers popped up on all of them with a giggle.
“I’m not going to state the obvious but you all needed a little more motivation! There’s been no death! How disgraceful! As if the event wasn’t enough, but now, I’ve lovingly sorted you all out with this mass of screens! But what are they for you may ask!” She giggled but soon static replaced her.
“In due time you’ll find out... for now enjoy your favourite memories from your time here at my school of theatre!”
A Killing a day keeps the teacher away! Oh wait... (Event)
It’s been less than 24 hours since you got your costumes. Hell is breaking loose within the school. Well, not quite. Things have been pretty peaceful, all things considered.
And a certain teacher didn’t really want that to keep going.
The loudspeakers screech to life.
“Alright kiiids!” Oh no.
Here’s a special announcement! We’ve hidden something very special in your rooms! Have a search, hehehe!”
With that very.... very short announcement, the tannoy died back down again. What could be hiding within the depths? Send in an ask and find out.
It’s pretty safe to say that after that roundabout trial, everyone was damn well fed up with the midnight trials and the despair disease.
Of course, the next day rolled around and (nearly) at the crack of dawn, Ms Squeakers summons the remaining six...
“Goooood Morning, I think you all know where I want to to go~ Tee-hee!”
Of course you know. It’s been routine from this point to all slug off to meet and greet your favourite hologram on the newest floor.
“Hello, hello you lucky six! What a pleasant surprise~” She sings.
“Well! You know what I’m going to say don’t you? Make yourselves at home, you’ve all got tickets waiting for you and have fun fun fun!!” pause for dramatic effect.
“or don’t! Ha! I wonder if this beautifully despairing game will just go on exactly how it has, until you all die one way or another~ That would be interesting, wouldn’t it~?” She sighs happily before poofing off.
Go go go chapter 5 is live. New floor. New tickets. New HELL. NEW SHENANIGANS.
An hour, as you gauged, was not very long. Hell, most of you didn’t even know where to even start. But as the hour, passed, you all worked at your varying levels to put together this team effort.
“Right Students~ Time’s up! I’m ready to see these!” Ms Squeakers giggled over the speakers before appearing at the West Side Court.
.....
Each team participated, that much was guaranteed. Ms Squeakers watched both performances with a keen eye, blatantly laughing at any little slip ups that might have occurred and even glaring at those who flat out didn’t try.
When all was said and done, you waited patiently. It wasn’t a very long wait mind, but the wait was still there.
“Well~ I bet you’re all dying to know who the winners are, aren’t you!” She giggled, “I want to start by saying both performances were equally as ridiculous, there’s much work to be put into this of course, but! A start is a start!” Ms Squeakers chimes with an excited nod.
“As for my personal opinion? Team One! You could say that a member let you down significantly but your piece ... attempted to be excellently put together by Alice, and that was clear~ The team effort was spectacular! Not to say Team Two’s wasn’t buuuuuuuuuuut, It just so happens that Team One have claimed the right to remove their costumes today then~ Remove that shame you guys! The winning six will also find 10 tickets in their dressing rooms~ But that’s all for now my darlings. Just a suggestion- Someone could take this chance to kill out of frustration of losing, I’m looking to you lot team two hehehehehe~” And with that, she was gone. It wasn’t very climatic, but it was an attempt.
From Ms Squeakers’ costume drop, it seemed people had fewer and fewer issues. It wasn’t exactly clear what you were all going to do until the (inevitable) motive... I think the general consensus was that you weren’t allowed to do nice things or else they would be ruined. (Looks loudly at last week’s party).
“Hello hello my students~ Can you all please regroup at the West Side Court, I’ve got something so wonderfully exciting to announce~!”
With a generalised grumble, you all met up on the west side courts, Ms Squeakers standing closest to the building with all the easily climbable scaffolding and balconies.
“Hoo, hoo sooooooo, I thought all of you deserved a little bit of... enjoyment, a it of fun of course~ I don’t run a school of theatre for no reason!” She buzzed with a suspicious joy. Floating over towards the centre, she does a little twirl before her announcement.
“I propose: A Dance Off! Not only that, but to get to know each other even more, I’ve prepared teams! There’s nothing better than getting to know someone to later know they might die- oops I mean... to later gain more trust and friendship of course, tee-hee~!” A collective and probably subtle groan came from the group but you were all... certainly responsive to the event at hand.
“Ahem, the teams are as follow, you can make team names up while you practice of course but for now, you’re one and two.
Team One: Kasai, Alice, Amarente, Zaiga, Baiko and Nime
Team Two: Tomoe, Sage, Kazou, Seikatsu, Otone and Kaiya!” Ms Squeakers looks upon each person as she calls their names out.
“Righto! Now that’s out of the way, your rewards~ I will be judging on effort! The more oomph you put in, the more likely I am to reward your team! The rewards will be 10 tickets to each winning team member and the allowance to remove your costumes early-- Isn’t that so kind and generous of me?” A small giggle left her form before fizzing away.
“You have one hour to put together a roughly 2 minute routine as a group~ Chop chop~” Her voice echoed around and that was that.
Let’s go, lads.
(Make optional group chats and send a Mod each character’s individual Effort, further explanation in ooc chat *finger guns*)
Some of you were surely expecting it at this point, but I think it’s safe to say that most of you were too lost in your own emotions. Right now, no one really wanted any interuptions but alas-
“Oh students~ I think you should all know what I’m calling for! Meet me on the 3rd floor West Side court- Don’t be tardy!” Ms Squeakers made her return loud and clear.
You all begrudgingly made your way to the concrete court, and knew the purpose of the visit.
“My, My, this is getting easier each time! Look at how few packages we’ve got this time gosh... Isn’t it perfect~!” Ms Squeakers giggles from the centre of the court.
It was pretty obvious how frustrated you were with Ms Squeakers at this point, so with no other words you all took your packages.
“Woooooooooooow look how obedient you all are now! See, despair is good for some things, haha!” She teased before fizzing away.
Emotions ran high after the midnight trial, everyone eventually getting to rest at somepoint after the end. Using the term ‘rest’ lightly there. No one was particularly ready for the day ahead, but you all knew somethin-
“Good Afternoon children~ Don’t you just love me? I’ve left you for this long after your late running trial, gosh I am a loving teacher, a-ha!” There she is.
Begrudgingly, everyone makes their own ways to the auditorium finding Ms Squeakers there all the same. In contrast to the students, she looked genuinely happy.
“I heard last night became quite emotional hmmmmmmm~ Brilliant, brilliant, suffering and pain are the perfect emotions for true despair!” She hums, trying to make it sound innocent.
“But but, aside from your good work, If you exit through the ballroom you shall find the stairs to floor 3! Go explore children--” Some of you began to leave,
“AFTER I’ve told you your important updates, gosh!” She yells annoyingly. Everyone freezes.
“Ahem, due to the amazing results from last time, everyone has been rewarded 10 more tickets and the ticket booth has been updated due to outside popular demand, hehehe!” She giggles mischievously.
“There’s a bit of delay in the E-book updating, but this shall be fixed soon enough, I’m sure. Right then. Ta-ta children, happy despairing~” and with that, she’s gone... God. Time to get moving...
