redraw of this from 2015 that i originally gave the caption “ tfw you're the only one still awake at the sleepover” ... which is still true & the premise here! mystery is here now though btw. i figured out how to draw dogs in the last 5 years.

anyways. redrew this because i still see my old mystery skulls animated art getting notes, and it’s all really close to my heart. msa was a big springboard for me to take art more seriously. the fandom was so small at the time i got into it, that if i wanted some obscure idea - i couldn’t google it and someone would have made it already, I had to make it.

i look back on those times with such a fondness. i could write a book about my feelings on that time, but the short version is that msa was such a life encompassing interest for me, i so unabashedly adored it. and so it makes me smile when you current day msa super fans find my old stuff from when i was one of you. i hope you’re all having as much fun as i did back then!

So okay hear me out

Since his favorite show is in fact Sailor Moon.....

......I see Lewis being a big ass weeaboo

His mansion from “Ghost” is actually filled with his anime dvds and the real reason he has unfinished business is not because he wanted revenge on Arthur, but because he still has yet to finish all the anime in existence. And no one can convince me otherwise.

And because he’s a man of culture he obviously prefers subs over dubs. And will end judge anyone that thinks otherwise. Vivi is half Japanese so she probably understands most of it anyway so she can kind of zone in and out, given she was probably taught most of the language by her grandmother and father.

Meanwhile Arthur is too lazy and tired to read the subtitles so he obviously prefers dubs. But he has no choice, because Lewis doesn’t approve. So mostly he just pays attention to the animation rather than the dialogue instead.

Also out of that collection of anime, note that also includes One Piece

that means he’s pretty much immortal 

and he will forever roam the earth, long past the passing of Arthur and Vivi....having seen all anime in existence, but his soul is tied to the earthly realm.....waiting for one piece to finish.

Also I really like the headcanon people have made of Lewis kinda holding a semi human form after he reconciles with Arthur, so that’s why he’s human in the first few panels.
