Hey y'all, time for a Mystery Skulls Animated Monthly Update! (Which may or may not have been somewhat delayed on account of Silksong for some of us on the team...)
This time around we're showing off a pair of shots that are close to completion! There are still some small things to add and tweak to these in post, but the bulk of the work is in place here.
This pretty much illustrates our progress over the past few months: more effects turned in, more renders in place, and getting closer to implementing the rest of the backgrounds.
While we're certainly stitching the pieces together, it would be fair to say that we don't quite have the ability to pinpoint a release date just yet, which certainly stings with it being October once again. But we'll absolutely be sure to let y'all know immediately when we feel confident in setting that date! Again, thank you all for your immense patience with our team as we push towards the finish line on this video.

Well, some fan posters for my favorite fandom who encouraged me to adopt animation as a profession. I can't believe that it will soon be a decade since its premiere, and also accompanied by the video themes that follow it…

My what if, if some all of my blorbo’s were stuck in the void and could interact with each other.
Have Emmet and Arthur singled out cuz they are fully drawn.
Anyway… interactions/dynamics and some thoughts under the cut.
Order in which everyone approximately appeared in the Blorbo dimension:
Peridot (13 years ago), Arthur (11 years ago), Donnie (8 years ago), H.U.E. (7 years ago), Kaeya (4 years ago), Emmet (under a year ago)
- Peridot is always looking for a way out. Overtime she’s become intrigued with how this place works and the people it brings. (She has tried to break reality many times.)
- Donnie wants to digitally “dissect” H.U.E. to figure out how his AI works. (Quick digital download speeds? This could be huge for his own projects!) H.U.E. Is not pleased about this, and despite his robot body not being built for mobility, he somehow gets away every time. (Void magic~)
- Arthur is tired of everyone else’s shenanigans… he’s been here the second longest and just wants to go home. (Yes even if an angry ghost is trying to kill him… at least he has his friends.)
- In the past Arthur worked with Peridot to try and break free from the void, however, it’s only ever resulted in slapstick comedy. Arthur is hesitant in messing with the void for this reason.
- Donnie learned the same lesson as Arthur, after ignoring Arthur’s warning about messing with the void.
- H.U.E. Goes to Arthur if he gets damaged. Arthur fixes him every time, however, he gets complaints from Donnie because he’s waisting opportunities to study H.U.E.
-Donnie has offered to upgrade/fix Arthur’s robotic arm because it keeps malfunctioning. Arthur is impressed and slightly geeky over Donnie’s tech… but he prefers something he can fix on his own.
- Kaeya is thriving from the chaos Donnie, H.U.E. and Peridot bring. However, ever since he arrived conflicts between characters have drastically decreased in intensity.
- Kaeya and Donnie spar pretty often, then gang kinda makes it a whole event. They somehow even found popcorn one time.
-Sometimes OC’s appear in the void, however, they can seemingly leave whenever they want. There have been operations to try and interrogate them… however, this usually ends in the OC vanishing into thin air.
- Emmet’s arrival sparked a new hope of escape in everyone due to his “past” experiences in interacting with the void’s “creator”. (Me. Remember when I drew myself as Arceus? Yes this is relevant to this stupid thing.)
- Their group dynamic is actually “ Wow these people are weird, thank god I'm the only normal person here.”
