📝: throwback to that one twitter thread about them, and how they both adjust to abrupt ends in their passions. shimizu is a good older sibling type of person for sakusa, i think, because she can convey her experience with track and field and later with the volleyball club. she’s also got the same sort of brusque temperament as him that would let her say something like, “ so what if you don’t win ? so what if you didn’t do your very best this one single time ? ” and it would still be acceptable. of everyone in msby— even hinata included— she probably connects most readily to sakusa because of their mentality about endings. she often offers to take him out for ramen/snacks after practice just to talk to him a bit more, and really does her best with him particularly to become more sociable. she finds it alright to call him kiyoomi-kun ( or even kiyo-kun in private ! although it could be confusing if she’s kiyo-chan ) and changes her form of address only a few months after talking to him, while she’s still calling the other players by their surnames. whenever she’s helping the team ( i.e. giving out towels or water bottles ), she always helps meian first, then sakusa, then everyone else ... because a girl has her priorities straight !
