OHMYFUCK i landed my very first CS research position OML!!!!

im still like "what?!"

I got chosen for one of ten spots

And hundreds almost a thousand applied for these spots SO IM SO HAPPY THEY PICKED ME I MEAN 🥰

i know technically it was easier cause i am a grad student, and even though my computer science research experience is nonexistent lmao

actually working on any type of cs documentation- which ive been doing- apparently counts as "research experience" in CS again i wouldnt know; i went straight to.. what tech academia calls "industry experience"??? i dont know; basically i went straight to work as swe

I know I already have research experience in physics, but that masters is in theoretical physics; i was barely in the lab since.. yeah lol

I really thank the lady who works here who let me use her office for this meeting i really appreciate it; she doesnt even know me but I got kicked out of the other conference room (politely ofc) cause they had a meeting (duh so)

I thanked her so much; I was like "I got the research position!! thank you so much for letting me use your office; i really appreciate it; it means a lot" and she was like "Congratulations!! 🥳🎊"
