James knows how Doe likes all her drinks. He could be in a full conversation with someone and make them to perfection without realizing it or asking.

Mrs. Potter spoils Doe every chance she gets. It thoroughly embarrasses James to know end because ‘mother she doesn’t need those three dresses but dammit they are nice-- okay lets get them’

Doe knows about Potter’s solitude behavior when he’s working himself to the bone, and will make sure to stop by without asking to force him to drink tea laced with a sleeping drought so he will fricken sleep. James hasn’t realized it yet. 

James grew up riding Horses because of his parents having them, and will sometimes convince Doe to take a trip through the countryside of Wales over the summer breaks. 

James has always let Doe and Lily for that matter, practice their healing spells on him. When he’d come back to his house all banged up from Auror training he’d simply plop on the floor and let the ladies work their magic. Even if it ended up in worse shape, his fondness for them trying and learning through healer training was well worth the trust he put in both of them. 

Doe has a bag stowed away in James closest full of muggle clothes, and money. Its just in case she hits that point with the war. James supports her 100% on it, and even promised to help her out of the country if she ever really wanted to leave it all behind.
