The McLaren MSO HS has just been revealed and here is all you need to know about the new 688 hp supercar.
The MSO HS is lighter than the standard 675 LT and boasts improved aerodynamics coupled with an updated twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine. It makes 688 hp and 516 lb-ft of peak torque. A revised titanium exhaust system is one of the reasons for the improvement in engine performance. The exhaust features a cross muffler to add more length and thus optimize flow.
The revised exterior features a P1-esque active rear wing. This new spoiler along with the front splitter, dive planes and vents add 220 kg of downforce at 150 mph.
To cut down on weight, McLaren Special Operations offers the MSO HS with Alcantara interior trim and carbon fiber racing seats. That’s straightaway a saving of 18.5 kg. Door-mounted heater controls are now integrated into the infotainment system.
It comes fitted with McLaren’s Track Telemetry package, three on-board cameras, F1-style shift lights and racing harnesses in place of normal seat belts.
The McLaren MSO HS is an exclusive model production of which will be limited to just 25 units. All cars will be built to customer specifications by MSO

McLaren MSO HS (688 HS) Revealed The McLaren MSO HS has just been revealed and here is all you need to know about the new 688 hp supercar.
A leaked image of a special McLaren supercar appeared on McLarenLife forum yesterday. Everyone thought it was the rumored 688 HS, including us. Well, as it turns out, it isn’t the 688 HS and it’s in fact a specially commissioned model built by MSO.
Autocar did some digging around and got to know from an insider source that McLaren will build 25 examples of the MSO HS. It apparently won’t enter series production.
The Mclaren MSO HS is a heavily modified version of the 675LT Super Series coupe. It’s 40 kg lighter than the 675LT and is slightly more powerful as well. The 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine in the MSO HS makes 679 hp and features revised aerodynamics. It uses a P1-style active rear wing for additional downforce.
We expect the McLaren MSO HS to be revealed at the Paris Motor Show next month. More details of this special model will available soon. So, keep watching this space.
