I need my mspec butches to know that there are men out there who will stop fucking breathing when you walk into a room and get a stupid giddy smile when you talk about how you want to look more masc and worship the fucking ground your boots walk on like you need to know this. Don't think you have to give up your masculinity bcs you're in love with a cis guy trust me the right cis guy will fall to fucking pieces bcs he can see the collar of your white tank top when you unbutton your shirt and you deserve NOTHING!! LESS!!

People who think our butchness just goes away when we date men bcs they think no cis man could ever crumble to dust at the sight of a confident butch are WEAK. There is a Gomez Addams out there for you, believe me, if and when you find him you are going to get so full of yourself off the high of his endless compliments that you could fucking kill god.

I love you mspec butches. Don't fucking settle, and flex on the pathetic losers who can't see how incredible it is to have a man love you and your glorious masculinity with his whole goddamn heart.

re: avoiding other butches & femmes post - yea me too. i know that i'm gonna have to grin and bear being gendered as female if other butches & femmes, and i don't know if i'm a lesbian or not but for Trauma Reasons the second somebody tries to push me into a label i'm gone.

u get it. honestly im kinda tired of people just assuming that if theyre butch or femme, that theyre automatically a woman and/or a lesbian. like ..... youre assuming that someone is something without really even asking, and if were going to build a community off of not assuming someones gender/sexuality/etc. shouldnt we just Not Assume? Huh?

ive had people get upset with me and tell me that i cant use butch because im not a lesbian. i tried to reply in a normal manner and be like "hey.. actually thats not right and ppl in the queer community historically have used it. that also feeds into terf rhetoric too." they asked for sources, and when i gave them what they asked for, i was told they werent valid because they were from tumblr. like, ok, then you give me sources that are: easily accessible and not warped by terfs or cis white gays about queer history, buddy.

i didnt say that to them, but i wish i had. i basically lost a few friends, then basically a friend group just because i started using butch as an identifier. which, by the way, i had considered and thought about after reading stone butch blues. oh leslie were really in it now.

anyways. sorry bout the rant there i am just passionate about this

I kinda just want to drop genderqueer and call myself butch full-time because "genderqueer queer person" is difficult to say and also people get confused and think that I'm nonbinary because I use genderqueer. But I have this image in my head of a butch as being completely, 100% masculine all the time. Like I feel like being "butch" means never putting on a dress or makeup again. And obviously I know that labels are fluid and I'm sure lesbian butches sometimes wear a dress or some lipstick but I feel like I'm "misrepresenting" butches every time I think about calling myself butch, especially because I'm pan/queer and not a lesbian.
