Reminder that our first Lambda meeting is tomorrow at 7pm in room N119 of the Cason-Kennedy Nursing Building! We'll give you information on what you need to know about Lambda, play a few games, and get to know each other. Can't wait to see you there!
While it still has to pass the Senate, the House of Representatives passed the Equality Act yesterday; a bill which will gauruntee federal protection for LGBT+ people. The bill recieved support from 287 cosponsers and was endorsed by more than 160 major corporations.
However, the fight is not yet over! This bill has to pass through the Republican-majority Senate before it can become law. Now is the time to call your senators and ask them to vote YES on S.788. You can find who represents your state at www.senate.gov/senators/contact . All Americans deserve equal rights under the law!
