So I’ve been getting into Magic The Gathering and have been playing with dad’s decks and cards. Yesterday I finally got the Lorwyn Eclipsed Bundle (also got myself 2 extra packs, so I’m up to 185 cards in total) and I’m now trying to make my own 60 card standard deck (even if it kinda sucks). I only have 17 lands, the creatures I picked out for this deck that require the most mana are 2 creatures that each require 5 mana..

so would 17 lands be enough?

Because I could try and made the deck a 3 colored deck that would ALLOW me to add more lands but then I have to balance a lot out even more.. some people told me not to HAVE a try-colored deck but I don’t mind.

questions for anyone who’s done mtg drafting before

(my first fnm is this week, the shopkeeper told us we could form our own draft pool and pick a set. my friends are also beginners to draft and i got them into MtG recently)

do you get to keep the cards?

is it acceptable/practical to draft from multiple sets (specifically GRN and RNA)

what set should my friends and i draft as beginners (also is Ikoria good,, especially if we get to keep the cards and use them in the future)

What is this symbol? Does anyone know?

Would you say this is a big or fairly average length for a card? A lot of people I know seem to think most are this about this length. It looks pretty average length imo. It's probably hard to find any bigger than this, and it still be a satisfying card.
