I give you, the USS ENTERPRISE.
Almost a year ago, I drew a few designs for her, and about 6 months ago I decided to go through with it so I started planning it out. It wasn’t until 3 months ago that I began the build. I took last week off and barely slept trying to get this done in time.
It didn’t turn out to be everything I wanted it to be so I will be upgrading her for Costume Con in March. And maybe I’ll compete in the mascarade at next year’s Montreal ComicCon.
But, despite not being totally pleased with her, it works, and was well received at Montreal ComicCon this year. So many people were in awe and of course the ones I cared for the most came from the Star Trek fans. A man shook my hand in appreciation, another(Picard Cosplayer) admired me from afar just nodding his head like he couldn’t get over it, and just walking through the dealer’s room made head’s turn. A lady used her fan on me because it was so hot in the room lol. I appreciated that beyond words. A few asked what/who I was and I would just turn around and gesture at the back of my hat that says the name. The amount of Minds Blown was pretty funny. So many admired the creativity of it, and that’s the best compliment to me.
I lasted 3 hours with a very warm skirt, 6 inch heels and a lot of pressure and weight on my head, so you can imagine how many changes have to be made. Much appreciation goes to my roomie who not only endured me sewing until 4 in the morning and panicking about getting it done in time, but helped me in costume and continuously fixed me before photos were taken. :)
I took a few profession shots with Open Shutter Photography. And I’m sure I’ll be seeing more from the photographers at the con pretty soon. Can’t wait to share them with you guys. Thanks for reading XD
