I promised a few weeks’ worth of music you can just listen to in your car and by God, I deliver! If you’re in the mood for something a little harder and faster (MY kind of music), join me next week... I got something loud, obnoxious, and German queued up for my dear listener. Lately my Soundcloud algorithm is recommending some very good lite material, and although much of it is not my usual fare, many of the acts I’m being told I should listen to deserve more online promotion. So, here’s MTNS ('mountains'), a group from Brisbane, Australia that I’ve never heard of before and likely neither have you. I gotta tell you, giving exposure to unheard-of acts like this gives me a special kind of thrill. I went online to do some research and found barely ANY information about them, save for the fact they apparently make a genre of music called ‘drone music’ and that it’s a trio. Wow, thanks internet! Their Facebook page hasn't been updated since 2020, and they seem to have given up on Twitter at the end of 2021. And, let me just say, fuck Failbook and Twatter, I can see why you gave up on both. Folks, I think I may have accidentally stumbled onto an underappreciated and over-talented gem here! I find listening to this song, Lost Track of Time from 2013′s Salvage a unique and gratifying experience. I don’t know about you, but these days I need to CHILL. I am emotionally and mentally at an extreme, and this tune helps to sooth me lately, plain and simple. This is a rare variety of music that can help a human heal and put things in perspective. And it reminds me, if you ever need to put things in perspective, you really weren't paying attention. Were you? I am convinced that the ONLY reason I couldn’t uncover more information on this band is because they are in the Eastern hemisphere of this planet, and I happen to be located on the Western.
