Advice?
I need advice from theatre lovers....
So I feel kinda shitty right now, and this is going to be a huge rant about how shitty I feel. I know I usually post things like this on my personal, but my shitty feeling-ness is theatre related today, so it’s going up here.
I just found out that Aladdin and Lion King are doing open-call auditions in my city in January. So, I was like “Oh my God! Yay!” because I always find out about auditions after I’ve already missed them.
Then I check out the details, and Aladdin is looking for “excellent singers who dance well”
I do not dance well. I mean, I logically understand that for theatre you need to be able to both sing and dance well. But it still really sucks to be told that you can’t do the thing that you want to do for the rest of your life because you don’t dance well enough.
I mean, I took probably five or six years of dance lessons, but that was when I was a kid. Seventeen is way too old to restart my learning, and I hate myself for ever quitting dance.
But that’s sort of beside the point. I’m thinking of auditioning for the experience. Is that ridiculous? Or do you think I could give it a try?
