Aclimitisation

I was asked earlier on in the week as to what im expecting, and to be totally honest i really have no idea what i should or would be seeing, my knowledge of the veterinary and physiotherapy side is pretty minimal so anything i see is a bonus.

I have been riding for about 11 years now ( and i am 21), but it has been very casual, New forest ponies do not need that much looking after. They live in a field all year round, in the winter they have rugs, and they live on hay and grass. Mucking out a stable was a novelty to me until last year, and different types of equine hard feeds are still quite alien to me. 

This week 6 horses were in and needed mucking out. When i arrive, the other two girls who work with me start earlier than i do so most of the mucking out is already done. I think they may have sussed out my expertise in the field of mucking out and sweeping, sooo after day 2 they have given me the mammoth and important task of..... mucking out their 8hh miniature shetland, who lives in a 3by3 metre, low roofed, garden shed.
