Thoughts

Look at that Charlie Brown drawing in panel 6 of the 7/19 strip where he's sitting on his tricycle. It's a small thing but I really like how effectively the drawing captures his personality in that moment. Most artists would have just had him leaning back and holding the handlebars but Schulz decided to put in that extra little bit of effort and instead have him resting most of his bodyweight on the handlebars as he takes in the conversation in front of him. It's a very natural and well-observed pose but at the same time not one you'd think to use unless you stop to consider what it's like to actually actually sit on one of those things.

Schulz is really good at capturing moments like this, and think it's these little details that which really set this era of Peanuts apart from a lot of other strips (including later Peanuts stuff).

Mun! What are dirt cups? And why is it so familiar?? Like a distant cousin you barely remember but know they exist cause you vividly remember that one time you saw them when you were younger ya'know (wow that's very specific... Huh alright lol)

!! Dirt cups are basically like chocolate pudding with crushed up Oreos (or some chocolate sandwich cookie) on top with like gummy worms mixed in and on top.  Obviously, there are variations and different things that can be added in to the pudding and topping.  Basically if you look up dirt cup recipes you will find hundreds. Note: dirt cups are also known as mud pies in some places

When I got home from my run Hubby was fixing the sprinklers out the front. He kept asking me to go turn the tap off and on and off and on. I mentioned I had just run 17km but he didn't seem to hear me 👂🏼👂🏼🗣.
