Yes regulations make the government work slower, THAT'S THE POINT. Anything the government does has a huge impact, so things need to be planned carefully, which takes time. Governments need to take time and care when creating/deciding things, so most problems are prevented in advance (of course this administration cut all prevention funding so they could care less about that). Stakeholders also need to be given time to provide their own input. You can't just bulldoze shit and say you'll fix it later, especially when it comes to peoples health and fragile ecosystems. Once a military base is built over a wetland they aren't going to later tear it down to restore the wetland. They'll shrug their shoulders, say oh well, and blame it on dems and gay people when the surrounding area eventually floods due to there no longer being a wetland to act as a buffer. Once a species goes extinct it's not coming back (no you can't just clone it, even if that was viable for most species you still wouldn't have anywhere to put them since you already destroyed their habitat, they'll just go extinct again! Also their genetics will be fucked due to having a small genetic pool)

"Tiller created the advocacy organization called Disabled Disrupters, which includes disabled students and their allies across the country. She also brought the issue to a Virginia lawmaker, Delegate Laura Jane Cohen.
"The idea that it doesn't already exist is kind of shocking," Cohen, a former educator and the parent of a child with autism, said.
Cohen sponsored a Virginia law requiring public schools to have discussions to make an individualized safety plan for emergencies and evacuations for every student with a disability. The discussions need to include plan coordinators, the student and parents.
The bill passed with bipartisan support and was signed into law by Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin.
"You never want students to be in a place where they feel that level of vulnerability of that no adult in this building is looking out for me," Cohen said.
The law goes into effect July 1, so as Virginia schools prepare lesson plans this fall, they'll also make emergency plans for all disabled students. "
Btw Tiller has epilepsy and was denied any accommodations during emergencies to protect her from the alarms until her Junior year when she was given tinted glasses and appointed someone to escort her during evacuations.

I'm disgusted with my own colleagues' actions in protecting those who hurt the environment. It's one thing for political appointees to do this, but having people on my own level turn against the mission is heartbreaking.
Furthermore, the bison project in Montana is close to my heart as I did an internship helping the tribes there (A'aninin and Nakoda) and learned so much about their efforts to return bison to their native lands. There are videos online of the first time bison were allowed to run free after being released from quarantine pens and it is beautiful. I couldn't help but tear up. The fact that the government is just pulling the rug on such an important project is disgusting. There is no scientific evidence that bison hurt cattle ranching, but this administration doesn't care about that. And they don't care about states rights either.
