Commission for my favourie Aussie supporter - in fact, originally it was supposed to be a full commission, however when my computer started to play up, we settled on a sketch for the near-term. Since my computer seems to be mostly behaving at this point, we went on to finish it.

Why Do I Do This To Myself?

AKA I JUST HAD A BONRIN STORY IDEA FIC I’M GOING TO WRITE THAT TAKES PLACE DURING THE KYOTO ARC. 

Rin and Suguro get so fucking lost when Torako sends them out to the temple to get... SOMETHING. I don’t know yet. And like, Suguro isn’t even sure how this happened, he’s just “What the hell?” 

And then it’s nightfall, but it isn't really that cold but anyway, halfway through the foliage they get chased by some kind of dog demon and they need to find a way out of the forest. They end up walking in circles for a long time and Rin and Suguro are just. So fucking lost and neither know to do. Rin suggests he uses his flames as a beacon so someone can come find them, but Suguro is like: 

“Don’t even think about it! You could set the forest on fire!” Because he has no chill and is super pissed at Rin being the Son of Satan. 

And then, and then, they suddenly fall and slide down the mountain a bit until they end up in this muddy clearing and at this point, Suguro is about to blow his top from stress. 

“I can’t believe this! God knows what’s happening back at the inn with my old man and the left eye! I can’t even complete the most basic chores, I’ve lost the thing I needed to get for my mom, I’VE BEEN CHASED BY A DEMON, I’M COVERED IN MUD, I’LL HAVE TO BUY A NEW UNIFORM, AND I AM LOST, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOREST, MILES AWAY FROM HOME, WITH THE SON OF SATAN!” 

“Well, at least it can’t get any-” 

*starts raining*

 “Excuse me, sorry, were you gonna say ‘worse?’” 

“No.” 

“No? You’re sure?”

“Yes.”

“Great, because it just got worse!” 

And while Suguro is ranting, Rin starts throwing mud, and they get into a mud fight and suddenly Suguro isn’t so pissed anymore. Suguro finally gives Rin the okay to send a beacon up so they can be located, And just when Rin is about to put a mud pie in Suguro’s face, they slip and fall and suddenly Rin is on top of Suguro, and whoopsy, cue the hot, steamy make-out session.

“O-Okumura...”

“You can call me Rin, you know.” 

“Rin? That’s a nice name. Then, you can call me Ryūji.” 

And then THUNDER AND LIGHTING and Rin cuddles up next to Ryūji because he’s downright terrified of thunder and lightning and just as they hear voices, they stand up and get the attention of Shura + 3 Shima Brothers. And just as they’re heading home, BAM more lightning and thunder and Ryūji pulls Rin close and you can slowly see Jūzō pass Shura 1000 yen.

Bonus: Back at the inn, Rin claims everything was a blur and that he can hardly remember anything. 

“What do you mean you can’t remember? We had a bonding moment, I cradled you my arms.” 

“Nope. Don’t remember, didn’t happen.”
